Root Did I just make a big mistake? DX2

oh well. they said it was already on the way and nothing i could do at this point.

Maybe they will let me trade it for a tbolt or something. Any recommendations?

I want the SGSII, but it's not out yet. Just looking for something to hold me over until that is released.

I've seen some posts that show the X2 screen looking really jaggie. I've personally never seen one in person and was just curious if you noticed anything like that. Thanks Steven :)

No, I didn't. It's a crisp and clear screen.

Wow, I thought it was just the picture but the screen is noticeably pixelated. I dunno what is going on. It is everywhere. Also, colors seem duller and there is a gradient effect on a lot of things like the buttons in market.

WTF! I thought this was supposed to have a better screen.

Really? Did you notice this on your phone before you saw those pictures?

Is this the pentile matrix that I have heard about? None the less I noticed that very thing on my friends Samsung Fascinate.

Also does anyone know if the atrix suffers from the same thing? Another friend has the atrix and I have played around with it a bit and never noticed it.

Are motorola screens declining in quality? Despite the resolution going up.

If Moto does not unlock the DX2, it'll begin to feel like a bad choice then. I hope they will do it for alll their phones not just the flagship ones.

Ok, so here is my take on the X2:

Screen: terrible overall. Yes, I think it has a higher resolution and is much brighter (in fact, i didn't even realize how dim the X1 was next to this thing) but the pixelation/gradiation and dull colors makes me hate the screen. it's really pretty ridiculous when you look at it, and it is upsetting that they would market this as a "qHD" screen, as if it was a plus. Also, it has some sort of anti-glare feature baked in (purple tint, not grainy dulling). I think it might be easier to read in the sunlight, bu not enough time to tell.

Quadrant: 24xx on first shot. No doubt it blows the X1 out of the water.
Real life performance: Much better than a stock X1, but slightly worse than the X1 on a custom ROM like Zombie or Apex. Still get the occasional freeze or lag, but much improved. Stock lockscreen is fast too.

Software/apps: a lot of things here not included in even gingerbread on the X1 like a task list (todo list) and a lot of other small tidbits.

Battery life: Terrible when I was setting up (dropped to 50% in about 2 hours) but better today. went through a work day (not much action) and was at 80% after 5 hours. However, I just checked the phone and it is down to 60% since then (3 hours).

Misc: They took away the hard camera button!!! big minus for me.

I think with a custom ROM, this thing will kill the X1 in performance, but will never recover from the screen issues along with the lack of a hard camera button.

moto may have excellent build quality in phones, but definitely not the best in choosing which screen to put into a phone.. i still believe samsung has the best overall screen
super amoled is amazing, the LG revolution whatever kind of screen that has, is very sharp, made me thing it was super amoled, but i dont think it is, maybe someone can help me out with that.

My friend/neighbor just got the X2 and I can confirm what everyone is saying about the X2 screen. The gradiance is terrible. On his it's only really noticeable in the battery icon. The screen is brighter than ours. We actually have to turn our brightness to full to match that of the X2.

The colors are also "cooler" than ours. I think it lags more than the X1 given it has a duel core processor in it. And it also has Android 2.2.2 on it. Which I guess is Froyo covered in blur and his phone says it's up to date so I don't think they are gonna put GB on it.

It also has more wallpaper and stock ringtones to choose from. Overall I don't like it. I told him not to get that phone because there is no development for it but he didn't listen.
