Root Dirrk's D01 overclocking kernels with lagfix

Be very careful if you do that. I have asked Dirrk to share his exact voltage profile the way jt did but he's likely so busy making these kernels he hasnt yet.

How are the numbers with 1200sv? Linpack quadrant et al.

Seriously I wish everyone would grab either Speed Pi or Benchmark Pi. These are nostalgic throwbacks to the days when SuperPi was actually something PC OC'ers benched with. Plus it really is a cpu tester with nothing from the I/O or Gpu

Linpack was like 7.9 and quad was 1680

not impressive at all, pretty much same as what i was getting with stock kernel with only the voodoo 0.2 lagfix installed

Hmmm, yeah it almost seems like its not 1.2Ghz but 1Ghz.

james do you mind DL'ing Speed Pi from Market and running the default test and seeing what you get?
This was my best score at 1.2Ghz [jt's kernal] on conservative:

Typically, it'd be between 500-550.
However, this was my best on performance:

Compare this with the stock 1Ghz voodoo or not and I can barely break 600ms
 
After installing voodoo .2, then installing the 1200SV kernel, I feel like my phone is almost slower than when I had the standard 1200SV kernel that was released last week. Does anyone else have this experience?

No I think it feels better with voodoo than without. Hard to quantify I know though

runs right at 700ms every time, conservative, performance, doesnt change anything.....

One thing I've noticed with setcpu is that even though the slider is upto 1200(maybe from past OC kernal settings), it may not run at that untill you move the sliders back and forth, primarly after a new OC kernal is flashed. Try dropping down to 800 and then slide it back upto 1200, for some reason that's always helped setcpu "engage" in my experience.

switched back again to 1200SV

tinkered around with autodetect and sliders on setcpu enough to be satisfied it is running the correct speeds

Linpack....a disappointing 7.72 MFLOPS

Quadrant...1723, somewhat higher than before...ok...

Super PI...LOL...worse than before....914ms, ran again immediately 712ms, third time 676ms, fourth time 808.....

SetCPU
Short Bench 211ms (fastest yet)
Long Bench 766ms
Native Bench C:877ms NEON:362ms

its weird how before any overclocking or even setcpu were installed, all i had done was root, and added this latest voodoo 0.2 lagfix and my scores were as high or higher in Linpack, Quadrant
my scores in the SetCPU benchmarks were actually slower, hadn't run Super PI then so don't know
 
I'm running the SV1200 Voodoo, no issues and smooth! SetCPU @ conservative, performance mode didn't effect bench scores. I'm happy with everything, my benches are a bit slower than before and I would be concerned if my linpack was 30 before and my quadrant was 3000, but it wasn't, so this is fine for now!

Bench Scores:

SetCPU:
short - 192
long bench - 753

Linpack:
Mflop - 8.103

Quadrant:
1740
 
I'm gonna wait till they tinker with the OC Voodoo a bit more. With JUST the 0.2 Voodoo installed (NO OC), I'm getting:

Quadrant: 1800+
Speed Pi: 650 ms (consistently 650-675)
 
Yeah this is what I mean. jt now has his version of a 1.2Ghz voodoo kernal up and reports are that this sucker is stable and very legit. I cannot tell you how tempted I am to flash it. jt's regular 1.2 was rock solid for me. I think I had one maybe two freezes on it in 4 days of use, and that was only because I was trying to freeze it.

you're not talking about "1200_voodoo_bootanimation" are you? I thought those were just.. well.. bootanimations
 
Does anybody know if you can flash one of these kernels over voodoo or do you have to uninstall voodoo first? Can you just disable it? Or is none of this necessary?

I actually have already DL'd it I just haven't applied to...yet. I have to wait it out though. Every stinking day some new update comes out. I mean literally every day. I do trust jt's work though and everyone is raving about it.

1200_voodoo_bootanimation is a 1.2Ghz Kernel with voodoo v.2, not just some bootanimations

+1 I'd also like some clarification on this as it seems a little ambiguous to me.
Now don't quote me on this but there are guys on xda who went straight from voodoo v.2 to the OC kernel without first uninstalling voodoo. This does make sense to me since you're going from voodoo v.2 to voodoo v.2. That is, its the exact same file system parameters. The uninstall was necessary for v.1 to v.2 since there was a difference between the two. But so long as you're on the exact same filesystem you should be able to just bounce between them.

So for example if you try the 1200+voodoo and dont like it or its unstable you should be able to flash directly to the 1000+voodoo.

Mind you this is what I believe to be true and not something I've verified with actual usage and testing.

Ohh ok I see ( I guess it was stupid to assume that, especially with the numbers "1100" and "1200" in the file names)

saps, jt's 1200 kernel has been out privately for wayyy more than 24 hours and I've been on it since 30 seconds after he posted it in irc. It's perfectly fine.

And yes everyone, it's fine to flash any oc'd or other kernel that has voodoo over any other kernel that has voodoo
 
This is mainly directed at jamenmandy but Dirrk replaced the 1200 OC Kernals due to the bug we figured was there: "*I am replacing SV1200 and LV1200 with new version. They have a small bug thats not allowing them to get past 800mhz I have fixed it and will be uploading them tonight"
This pretty much confirms what we knew from last night which is that your cpu was really only at 800Mhz.
This again is part of the reason I like to wait a day or two now before jumping. As tempted as I still am by jt's 1.2oc/voodoo Im waiting till at least tomorrow just so that any gremlins get discovered by someone else.
Who knows they might finally get the voltage right for the 1.4Ghz and release that tomorrow. This is such a dynamic process

His 1200 voodoo or 1200 stock? I got on his 1200 stock last week as well and ran it for days until he put out voodoo. To be the best of my knowledge his 1200 voodoo has only been out for 1 day so far. But you clearly are more in than know than me as I never get on irc.
I have jt's 1200voodoo on my sdcard and I know jt's work is always pristine. Im just gun shy right now because I had a major bork when going from voodoo v.1 to v.2. It was my own fault and I know I have no danger applying this right now and I probably should too.
 
JT's 1200 came out on saturday in irc right before 12 AM, right after he released voodoo 1ghz to the public. A few of us got it then and everyone's been fine on it except one guy who knew his phone can't handle 1200 at all.
