This is all I gleaned from the conference:

RAZR HD:
4.7" HD display
Chrome pre-installed
Jelly Bean (upgrade)
Developer edition also available
Available "before the holidays"

RAZR MAXX HD:
Larger battery (no spec announced)
32GB
Jelly Bean (upgrade)
Developer edition also available
Available "before the holidays"

Still in need of some hard specs.

That's what I got. A few more specs to be had from the moto press release, found here: Motorola announces Droid RAZR Maxx HD -- Engadget. Of note, screen tech is super AMOLED, camera is 8mp, 1gb ram, will have microSD slot, NFC, and the non-maxx version will be available in black or white.
Dimensions (also from engadget): "Dimensions-wise, it's 131.9mm tall, 67.9 mm wide and still pretty thin at 8.4mm."

When I switched from a Nexus to a Razr Maxx the only thing I really missed was the HD screen on the Nexus. This has that and then some with the battery and size.
 
I figured I stop by this thread (which i was active in awhile ago) and lament that I wish these phones (the Maxx HD specifically) were available a few months ago. What's a S3 go for on Craig's List?

I get it I guess. Why not just make the MAXX & charge $250.00:D. Whatever happened to Motorola's CEO saying they were going to make less phones ? Seems this would have been a great place to follow thru on that. Just make 1 HD, not 2 ?? Whatever :rolleyes:

But then again what CEO anywhere follows thru on any promise.

Also the Razr HD will be slightly thinner and that's important to some. Also the 2500 battery will be fine for light users too. Also like OTD said, price will be very important to many buyers.

After reading what was released at the announcement, I'm 99.99% sure I'm looking at my next phone. I've been sitting on my upgrade since March 15th, 2012. I'm going for the Maxx. I just hope they release both the HD and the Maxx HD at the same time, although I've waited this long, another few weeks won't kill me if they don't.

I'm still..... patiently/impatiently waiting for the release of the Maxx HD. :smokingsomb:

Well, you have to keep in mind that these phones have been in the works for a while now. Probably around the time of the Razr Maxx release. The new CEO has been in place for a couple of months. They have obligations that they have to fill, with Verizon specifically, that they can't just let go.

Keep in mind that Verizon and Motorola are the two companies that really put Android on the map. Motorola can't fall out of favor with Verizon, especially now that Google owns them. This is the whole reason we saw the Bionic after all.

They kept saying things about the "new" Motorola, but I don't think we will see them as new until 2013. At that point Moto phones will be running as close to vanilla Android as you can get and have all the latest and greatest specs. I doubt they will be Nexus phones, but I have a feeling that they will be pretty close. It is too bad we will have to wait a year for that though.

Yeah. It's a huge upgrade over that which it replaces. Also, seems the dimensions overall are smaller than SIII in a way it's packaged just as well. Only thing that I think is a bit unexpected(I expected the Maxx for whatever reason?) is the AMOLED display rather than LCD colorboost. Not sure whether that ends up being a plus or minus when comparing it to the Atrix HD or Lumia 920 now using LCD instead of AMOLED of the 900.

If the nav buttons were bezel based it would be an added plus also. I love that i can change them around on my nexus for goofing around sorta reasons, but at the end of the day it would be nice if they were bezel based. With the SIII having a bit more screen, but not being much bigger overall and also having bezel buttons I think it has an advantage with anyone that is a flat lander living in good metro coverage. If you are in the mountains like you, or somewhere somewhat off the beaten path I get going with the Moto. Nokia is the dark horse though I think for Moto and Samsung is avoiding them by going a bit bigger. I think people are trending bigger also based on the success of the first Note which was only on one carrier here effectively. If VZW get's the Note II and Lumia 920, in similar time frame to these HDs, I think Moto has issues. There is a big sucking thirst for Note sorta device on VZW and this silly 4:3 LG isn't the answer.

Looking for a brighter screen. Hate the dim looking AMOLED. Now the RAZR MAXX AMOLED is brighter (little) than the S3. I SURE HOPE the new HD screen is even brighter.
Love the 4.7 over the 4.6 since it will have those darn soft keys. That helps make up for it.
Maxx, yup. That will probably make this my next device...if it is bright!

The M has less bezzle than the HD WTF?

Oh boy, just had a flashback to the Gnex release and the "by the end of the year" promise. My first thought is late October for the HD and mid-November for the Maxx HD. But considering this is Verizon, maybe they are referring to Boxing Day and Kwanzaa and we could be looking at a December 13th release? :eek:

I don't see this being like the Gnex. Remember they had three different phones coming out at roughly the same time then. They also had much more invested in making the Razr the big seller. They will get these out as fast as they can for the holiday shopping season. Mid to late October would be my guess. I also think that the Razr and Maxx will be out at the same time.
