Discuss all Moto Droid Razr/Maxx HD rumors/release date/speculation/news

Supposed to be 4.6 so after the soft keys show up on the screen, it will be about 4.3 usable. Some apps will make use of it like the movie player to give you a full 4.6 screen, but almost all apps will not make teh keys disapear and you'll have the 4.3".
I've played with the Motoraola Atrix HD with a 4.5" screen and soft keys (on the screen) and it shows less than my Droix X with a 4.3 screen. Open the internet on the Atrix 4.5" and the pages display less text than my Droid X.

When I bought my Nexus my upgrade was not used, for some reason, so I still have one. Since the Nexus was traded in for a Maxx I am really happy with it. I wouldn't mind having a faster processor and better screen, but it isn't a must just yet. I have no problem with sitting back and waiting to see what comes out. Maybe even until next year or when the Razr HD drops in price.

I also switch from the Nexus to the Maxx and am VERY pleased with the Maxx. I have been on the shhh......I mean Crummy phone roller coaster....Eris, Fascinate, Charge (which works pretty good after getting software updates), Nexus and now I finally got a good phone. I am hoping that I can hold off using my upgrade and give the Razr HD some time. And see what happens closer to Christmas/New Years.:D
 
There must be something Moto is hiding from us about the Droid Razr HD that will be revealed Sept 5. Their advert, Save the Date, "On Display" is that a hint?

The Razr HD has to have something different from the Atrix HD. The Atrix HD has really been getting great reviews on the "display" from colors to how crisp the display is in general. So will the Razr HD display be even better looking than the Atrix HD? or will it be the same.

I just feel like there has to be something we have not been told that will blow us away at this event, but what is it?

My Magic 8 Ball is telling me that it will either be a third device or something that Moto (Google) has cooked up themselves. They have really been pushing the concept of your phone connecting to everything and being a central part of your life. In the beginning it was all about docks. You have car docks and then desktop docks. Later they had HD docks and then they introduced Webtop. A bit before its time (reminds me of Palm's Folio), but still a really cool idea. They had a dock to go with it and even a laptop dock with a full screen that excited a lot of people. Last year they introduced Moto Active which was a little different, but offered some great features. I have a feeling it will be along those lines and this time I'm hoping for something that will blow everyone away. Something like a tablet shell that you can just drop the phone in.

Hey folks. I've been following this thread silently since March....haven't spoken up because I don't have anything to add. Just looking for info. Can you post a link to the other forum please? I haven't been able to find it. Thanks for any response and for all the info over these many months of waiting for the HD.

It is gone now and we only have the one forum.

With most phones there is a pre-release code name that the company uses internally. Many times the real release name isn't known until right before launch. That is why we end up with forums like "Droid Fighter". Even though we often know what the release name will end up being we like to wait it out. In this case there was a separate Razr HD forum created by accident and the Droid Fighter forum was left standing. This has since been corrected and all the content from the Droid Fighter forum has been moved to the Razr HD forum. The Droid Fighter forum is now gone.
 
According to all the filings we've seen, the Razr HD is using a Snapdragon processor, which is made by Qualcomm. So the mystery Intel-based device is something else.

We know it it isn't edge to edge based on all the leaked photos. Could be a new device. That would be nice. I think that is a ransomed phone.
 
This event must be a release of several phones then some being released next month and others like this edge to edge design later in the year.

So the question is should we wait for edge to edge design with possible jelly bean or get Razr HD?

Yes, this does not sound like the Razr HD.

OTD has said she heard 3 devices for VZW from Moto for or by October. This must be the 3rd one and it's been kept WAY more secret than the other two.

I don't know, it would be nice, but I have a feeling the third will be a tablet or something like that. I just know that Vzw employees are getting or will get trained on 3 separate Moto devices. We know about the Razr HD and the Razr M already so the third is a mystery.

I hope this turns out to be some form of Razr Maxx HD though. Big battery and HD edge to edge screen would make this an incredible device. Then again, releasing it with Jelly Bean would make it even better.;)

I just find it hard to believe Moto goes without a phablet challenging device of any sort. Particularly when SIII is now kinda a small phablet rather than the size of a traditional smartphone.

Everything leaked on the RAZR HD just make it seem not so grand compared to something like the SIII or Note II.. Particularly where you have all the nifty Wacom things that are starting to look more and more useful with NoteII better digitizer and software. I thought the digitizer on a smartphone thing seemed like a total gimmick with the Note, but with Note II and the extra capability and uses, it's STARTING to look like something more compelling. Little bit of gimmick left I suppose.
