Root DJ05 at XDA

Honestly its not a huge deal...,just my personal approach is throw a kernel on my sdcard....boot into cwr...,wipe cache...,flash kernel......reboot. :)

Gotcha. Is there a downside for me booting in to clockwork and wiping cache again? I would imagine not, so I might try that to see if it helps with those FC issues that I am seeing with that one widget.

Ok, this is driving me insane.

On JT's clean 0.4, I wasn't able to swich GPS on/off via the slide down menu. I wiped data/cache and installed clean 0.7, and still can't switch GPS on off via the slide down menu. I can go into Location and enable/disable it, though.

Any thoughts?

I am running stupidfast 1.98 on DJ05.

Thanks!

Yes, I installed everything correctly. I was running JT's super clean 0.4 with Dark Gloss theme and noticed the GPS on/off issue. It's VERY annoying.

Then, I wiped data/cache and installed super clean 0.7

Off topic:

I loved the circle battery in Dark Gloss, but jt's superclean 0.7 doesn't have it. Can I install it separately? I could've sworn I saw a thread about it.

Well I think one of your problems is you shouldn't have been running super clean 0.4 if you were on the DJ05 modem (I am pretty sure 0.4 was a DI01 ROM), but I doubt that is what is causing this strange issue.

Sometimes, when I click the GPS switch, it turns green...but then I double check in Location settings and none of the GPS services are turned on.

I just don't get it. And battery is draining REALLY fast.

Stupidfast 1.98 + DJ05 + Super Clean 0.7

Should I flash the previous SF kernel?

I am running the Stupidfast 1.54 kernal and have no problems, but I really don't think it is the kernal itself that is cause your issues because they probably would have found that bug right away.

Maybe it is best to just "start over."

yes stop using the pull down :D sorry could resist.

Does it do it if you use a different app for toggling gps? For example I use extended controls and never had, or maybe just didn't noticed, when I use that.

Have you tried some other toggle app?

Frankly I'd like to ditch that pull down it just takes up space in the notification area.

anyone know how to remove it or even of its possible?

yeah i seem to recall this issue from before for you and some others

Also since the custom kernel is telling the phone where to get the animation its possible they only point it to system/media and not both. I suppose we could ask in IRC

Do you have an animation in only the data/local that works? I know the custom kernels put it in system/media

i would have to reinstall a custom one to verify this on new kernels....i havent put on in a week
