Root DJ05 at XDA

Wow, I wish I wasn't on my phone because this seems to be very intriguing and I don't think I'm getting the whole picture from the new app

Finally upgraded to DJ05 and I'm running Blackhole 2.3 and loving it so far..can't believe how fast the GPS lock is now.

Wait, but if I recall, you can't perform nandroid restores with DJ05. Am I right?

Can you revert back to DJ01 if needed?

If no to the first and yes to the second, I may put on DJ05 tonight...and run a stupidfast UV kernel.

Yes you can make nandriod backups and yes you can go back to di01. The files are in same place as dj05 :D

you can revert to DI01 yes...we can have the radio package, and then just flash a dio1 rom.

you can make full backup and restores in dj05...just dont restore dio1 backups over dj05 as you ll loose some features and gps wont completely work

I have GPS and Google turned on (wifi). I can't get a lock indoors. I will have to try standing outside...really discouraging.

And after DJ05, I can't turn off the GPS from slide-down menu. I have to go into Settings and uncheck boxes.

Otherwise, jt's Dark Gloss looks pretty good.

Dark gloss is thatdudebutch not jt. :)

Yeah GPS locks outdoors faster for obvious reasons....but the control works just fine from the pulldown power control

Maybe I should reinstall the ROM? I can't turn off the GPS...all other switches work fine.

I don't know if it's because I accidentally installed the stupidfast kernel twice (forgot I did it the first time, then went to wipe data/cache, then installed it again).

There is no need to wipe data with a kernel...,just cache......best to install kernels in clockwork as rom ma.ager doesn t give you a separate option for cache...,worst case download the kernel in rom manager but don't install......boot into clockwork...wipe cache....then choose install from sdcard....navigate to clockwork mod---downloads. And look for it under geeknik i believe

Can't you just wipe the cache after you flash the ROM since you are in clockwork anyway and then boot up and download the kernal through ROM manager?

That is the way that I did it at least. I installed the DJ05 ROM and then before I rebooted out of clockwork, I wiped the cache.

Yeah it doesn't really matter what order you do for kernel or cache wipe in cwr....i just say wipe cache first as otherwise half the time you flash the kernel and then reboot and forget to wipe cache if you do it second. :)

However when you boot and run stuff your phone caches them....so you'd have to wipe cache after the kernel....

Personally i never use rom manager for reasons like that

So if I haven't wiped cache AFTER installing the stupidfast kernal, I should boot in to clockwork and do that? I did it before installing the kernal through ROM manager.

Your good you dont have to do it after :D

Well what are some things that could be stored in cache that could cause problems? I am seeing an issue that I did not get before. I have the Sense Analog Clock widget and ever since rooting and flashing the new ROM I get a lot of FC for the widget. I don't actually have to FC it, if I just click Wait it is fine, but I get the popup every morning after turning on the screen after it charging all night.

I am just dealing with it because it is only a minor nuisance and not really a big deal.

Honestly its not a huge deal...,just my personal approach is throw a kernel on my sdcard....boot into cwr...,wipe cache...,flash kernel......reboot. :)
