I was introduced to this ROM by a female forum member, friend of mine, (yes, there are female SGSII, Android enthusiasts), who, like Gollum, likes pretty things.
Not necessarily my basis for choosing a ROM I must admit... but I'm easily led.
Until this time I had been using SicOpat's KI3 ROM which is close to stock and very reliable and stable but thought I'd give it a try.
Like SicOpat's ROM, this one has no "kitchen" and requires that any extra mod's/themes be flashed separately.
One thing that caught my eye was that the "Samsung App's" were an add on which meant that straight away you could choose to ignore them.
Also,. on the ROM2, the 3.1.5 Market is built-in as is the Siyah 1.7.8 kernel and Launcher Pro with Fancy Widget, Titanium Backup, Spare Parts, SMS Pop-up, BLN and a host of other goodies.
The developer, Dlev7, works alone but has an extremely talented and considerate "modder" in a guy called sileshn who has produced some of the most interesting animation mod's I have ever seen as well as font packs, battery mod's and a whole host of other add-on's. Both guys are very amenable and quick to respond on their forums.
From the moment I opened this ROM for the first time I was very pleased. The stock boot animation was crisp and clear but the real bonus was in the day-to-day operation.
I am finding it, snappy, crisp, quick and very battery friendly. The animations and transitions are extremely good and there are about 7+ to choose from. I like the Flying-Flip animation for the Power menu when it opens and in the Status bar when a message is received.
The font pack contains 40 or so fonts to change the look of the SGSII. The stock theme is based on JKay and allows for an extended , customisable Power Menu. You can choose from a scrollable or non scrollable menu in the Notification bar. CRT effect can be on/off.
I have held off on publishing this ROM on the forum until now because there were a couple of minor hiccups when it was first released, However, these have now been ironed out and you are left with a very fast and slick ROM that is without a doubt, one of the best I've tried!
Pro's
Very fast
Fully customisable
Slick animations
Battery friendly
Good range of add-on's
Con's
No kitchen... all add-on's are flashed separately.
