Download from link next to - Release versions
Use FlashImageGUI App to flash Recovery to your LG Optimus M.
Copy recovery file to your SD Card.
Launch FlashImaheGUI App.
Select Recovery Image option.
Locate and select recovery file from your SD card.
Make sure you check clear cache and clear dalvik options in FlashImageGUI App.

Hello everyone, I flash to cwm last night. In the past I've tried Joneidy and GNM recoveries they worked just find, no problems! With ClockWork recovery Ive had problems with entering different commands, reboot,flash zip from sdcard,etc. last night menu and search buttons were my command keys that worked (with menu I was able to scroll up and down,(I was also able to do this with the volume up/down) with the search button I was able to enter the comands) Today volume up/down (not the menu key) can only be use to scroll up and down, and with the camera key I can excute the commands??? totally different from last night???? any help would be greatly appreciated! What should I do?
Well, I'm not sure what your problem is, but yes, the vol up/dn and camera buttons are the for navigating and selecting in CWM recovery. It took a little while for me to get used to it, since I was coming from GNM's recovery, but it works well.

Thanks for your quick response alfick3, I think those keys are the chosen ones! LOL! they seem to be getting the job done! I dont know what was up last night (with the menu and search keys excuting commands) but oh well everything seems to be ok! Thanks again!![]()

I may map the other keys if my head stays clear enough on my meds lol.
I will post a update when/if I get this done.![]()
lmaoHey guys, so I am trying to install a custom ROM in my LG ms690 android phone. However I apparently need to find a custom recovery first. I have tried to follow these instructions but can't seem to be able to do so.
I need some major help.
I have recovery-2.2.1-joneidy.img saved in root of sdcard (no folder) ;
I have recoveryflash folder in sdcard which contains the same img file above, and all the files provided in the recoveryflash.zip ;
I just can't get this to work. any help? Or, also if any advice to how to use ACS updater to run ROM from sdcard.
The easiest way to get a recovery now, is to go to the market and download ROM Manager. Once you have it, open it and select the flash a recovery option. It'll give you the LG Optimus LW 690
If you're new to this stuff, get an app called FlashGUI ( google it ) use that to flash a different recovery, it's the easiest way to flash a recovery. Rom manager is kinda tricky for people that's new to this, so i would just use a different recovery. The two other recoveries that we have for our phone is much more user friendly.I've read that we shouldn't use ROM Manger, what has changed?
EDIT:
I used ROM manager, flashed using the first option, and then when I tried installing rom from sd card all that it did was reboot phone back to standard rom except with all user apps deleted.

Well when this thread was started it was because of 'user error' and ppl flashing recoveries made for other optimus's and phones listed in RM and bricking their phones, NOT RM's fault ppl cant readIf you're new to this stuff, get an app called FlashGUI ( google it ) use that to flash a different recovery, it's the easiest way to flash a recovery. Thank you PG. I didn't know RM put our phones in the listed phones, that's good news. I was using your recovery without RM. So i will be checking out the new RM features. Since then I ported CWM to the Optimus C and M and it works great!!!!! And now its officially built with RM support by koush himself. So now its a simple click click to install and RM can be used to do almost everything from.![]()
