Root DO NOT use CLOCKWORK MOD or ROM MANAGER!

I can pull it off my wifes phone whne she gets home n upload n link on wiki. If dl'd with RM it should be the clockworkmod/download dir on the sdcard sum where.

You can get flash image from the market.

That'd be cool. I downloaded off of rm and when i browse the sd in flash image i can't find it. Thanks.

Ok, well, here's my experiences; my wife's phone has CWM 4.0.1.5 that I manually put on her phone using ADB commands, back in October or so. She has the latest version of ROM Manager from the market (4.8.0.7 (or, at any rate, when I downloaded it, that's what I got)). I just did the Flash CWM Recovery twice, and it says the current recovery is 5.0.2.7, but when I actually boot into recovery, it is the older version. So there is something fishy going on. I thought it worked on my phone, but I had already manually placed the 5.0.2.7 version on my phone, so that is what I saw when I rebooted into recovery. So, to sum it up: her phone ROM Manager says she has version 5 something, but when I reboot into recovery, it's actually 4 something. The v.5 didn't actually get flashed.

So I am not the only one?! Really, PG, I wasn't trying to be a douche. But this really isn't working for me on multiple OM's.

There has to be something up with RM on that one.

This is on the Markets description of RM regarding v5 cwr

"ATTENTION: I have started the rollout of ClockworkMod Recovery 5 for some devices. It will have faster tar backups, and will properly preserve the filesystem type at time of backup. If CWR5 fails to flash try flashing again, that usually fixes it (bad flash). If you have any issues with CWR5, feel free to roll back to the previous version, and report the bug to me at koush@clockworkmod.com!"

Yeah, I'm using the v5 on my phone because I manually put it on. Since my wife has v4 on her phone and it is working, I'm not too worried about it.

Here is an update: I decided to flash the 2.2.2 update to my phone using the LG upgrade tool. That of course put me to a stock LG Optimus M. I then used the http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-...-kit-optimus-m-2-2-2-dummy-proof-3-click.html thread to root my phone. Once I did that it put GNM's recovery on my phone, but I then went to the Market and downloaded ROM Manager. I selected the flash CWM option and had to scroll and find my phone (remember, it's listed as the Cricket version and before I was only getting the Cricket version, this time I got all the supported phones). I did it twice and then rebooted into recovery. It went to CWM! So, for some reason when we were using CM7 it wasn't working, but with the stock ROM, it worked.

Prolly because of what I done (per koush) to set it apart from all the other thunderc devices. I need to recompile n release a new build just because of this.

This goes back to the prepaids get no love thing, only devices getting updated are the popular paid devices. If you ever look thru the RM manifest on github, you will see some devices are on very old versions of CWM, official builds that is.

Either way, I have CWM and ROM manager now for my phone and they are valid and not just a hack. I thank you very much for all the work you've done on this phone. It's greatly appreciated.

oh the CWM wasnt a hack b4, just has to have the RM support add by koush, which is prolly just a flag I coulda done, but only koush n his crew can add it the the manifest as an official build.

And your welcome, I was happy to do just the prove that rebel fool how its pose to be done lol

Hey PG, so we're good to go on getting CWM from Rom Manager now?

I apologize, I hope you weren't offended by my saying hack. I have enjoyed having it as my recovery since you first introduced it to our phones (was that back in August?).

Why is it that when I was on CM7 and selected to flash a recovery in RM, I only got the CWM for the OM (OC in RM). Now that I'm on a stock 2.2.2 ROM, I get all the CWM options and I had to scroll to find the one for the Optimus M?

Thanks again for a great recovery.

Update: yesterday afternoon I was working on my wife's phone and selected the flash recovery option in ROM Manager and selected the OC (that's how RM sees the Optimus M) and flashed it again. I did it twice and then booted into recovery. Where before she had CWM 4.x, now it was 5.x. Looks like we now have a fully functioning ROM Manager and recovery (actual results may vary, depending on conditions). This is my experience at any rate; I hope others will give it a try and have just as good an experience.
