Do you study (school)

I have a D in chemistry and i'm a senior. I need to up my study habits so lately I come home and study to like 8 then At 9 I'm allowed to do things like get on my laptop , my phone etc. It's like this until progress reports. :mad:

SO do you study?
 
Sounds like you gotta work on your study habits and focus more in class... I make all A's and B's. I don't know about yours, but at my school, tutoring is available before and after school; and all periods throughout the day by seniors in honor classes. Check to see if you have someone like that and see if you could visit a tutor.
 
Do as our students do. Study from 6:00 in the morning till 21:30 at night, Monday to Saturday. Lessons start at 7:30 and end at 18:00, again 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday. Tutoring can be arranged on Sundays if they desire or need it.

Basically it's A or flunk here.

No offense I'm guessing your asian... Lol in america no one studys that long it's like torture
 
Straight A's so far for me. Working towards my Bachelors in Software Engineering. Doing my best to maintain my 3.77 GPA >_<

I'm actually English, from the UK originally, but I teach in a high performing Mongolian middle school here. Of course besides all the long hours of studying the students have to do military drill and running twice a day as well, as well as two weeks basic military training for all new students.

Originally I was used to UK school hours and methods, but I'm now accustomed to how things are done here in China.
 
I never studied in high school. I also never did homework so I got a 0 for all homework assignments, then I just aced all of my test to finish with a low B average.

Then I went to Nuclear Power School straight out of High School. We were in class 12 hours a day 5 days a week. I never studied outside of class, even though the majority of people did 30-40 hours of study time outside of class (it was all logged and was mandatory for 50+% of the class because of the high standards). I graduated in the top 5% of my class with honors.

Granted, my IQ is much higher than average. But I have found that if you focus in class, take good notes, and don't get distracted it goes a long way. Most people just do not focus 100% in class. It is not the same for everyone, but make sure you completely focus in class and do not get distracted at all. Also if you have any study hall time or anything like that, use that opportunity to do homework or review material while it is fresh in your mind. If you review things while they are still fresh it helps a lot in memory retention!!!
 
I do study for my classes for midterms and exams, but not for daily things. I do take notes and pay attention in class.

You should look up so online resources related to chemistry.

Unfortunately my school is on block schedule. So I they don't offer study hall, that's why I have to study at home.:o
 
I used to study only the day before the exam and I had excellent grades (I even won prizes because of that). However, at one point, you might need to spend time outside of class to get good results, depending on what you are studying. It is a hard thing to do if you never did so before.

Hard work pays off. ;)

Now most of our students board at the school, 8 students per dorm room in bunks, not much space for books and things. So they do most of their studying and 'homework' in the classrooms, often supervised by the teachers and other support staff. Many students will be helping each other with their studies.

Kinda hard not to study as a biochemistry major, which is really a double major and two minors. While I do study, I'm not hitting the books nearly as much as my friends taking similar class loads, yet, I have high A's in every class. Take good notes, pay attention, and ask the teachers if you are stuck on any concepts; these three things go a long way to reducing your study time.
 
I'm not in school, but I found that studying and reading helped maintain a good sense of curiosity. You can still study even though out of school.

This led me to research and eventually root the phone, tweak a tablet, learn new software. I learned new digitizing techniques for embroidery, working on photography (ongoing for years). You don't vegetate and stagnate and let entertainment amuse you. You think instead.

I do have an Associates Degree in graphic arts, but instead of humanities, I took sciences. Astronomy and Geology. Love both and keep reading and learning.
 
I didn't study much and barely did well enough to get my university degree lol.

(Way too much fun.. coke, hallucinogens, weed, beer.. but it's Colorado what do you expect.)

Now I'm makin big bucks but I wish I was studying again to meet more ladies (im still a youngin)!
 
Oh and I'm also studying Italian right now because I'm 50% Italian and my family owns a Condo in Sicily.
 
I had very odd study habits at school, I don;t listen well so for all my classes I would just put on my headphones and go through the current curriculum on my own and made sure to take tons of notes. because of how I did my class studying most of my homework was also done in class. Worked really well for me but wouldnt recomend for others. ended up graduating HS with a 3.4 GPA (not the best but not bad at all)
 
I'm currently studying at university in a Bachelor of Disability and Community Rehab. I don't study too much but seem to studying more at exam periods but otherwise not much study done.

Just started my degree, so ask me again in 2.5 years time LOL :p
