If I wanted to listen to music on the go I would use a seperate MP3 player, Desires battery only lasts a day as it is ;)
 
I've been using my Desire with Mixzing for music. I'm fairly happy with it so far.

It works well with my Jabra Halo bluetooth headphones. I can control the play/pause and next track from the headphones so I don't have to take the phone out of my pocket.
The bluetooth works much better than my old ipod touch 2nd gen.
