Doctor Who

As Brotherswing suggested, the first season is probably the best place to start. Be aware that the first few episodes are kinda slow. Episode 6 is the first really good one. If you want a single episode to try, I'd watch season 3 episode 10 "Blink." It's a stand alone episode, and my favorite DW episode (fan favorite really).

I'm pretty sure Blink is everyone's favourite. It was so well written

Wonder if BBC America will run it too.

Well if it went out live I guess discussion is no longer a spoiler, but to be safe:

I was certain that the run of betting on him was a result of misdirection rather than a leak.

Anyway, damned good choice! A different style, and a bloody good actor :)

This whole notion of there being a last Doctor is really pissing me off to no end.

That's really all there is to it for me.

Why don't they go nuke the moon out of orbit, sink Hawaii and make puppies illegal while they're at it.

Last doctor? Haven't heard that discussed lately.

Thought that had been officially put to bed anyway (apart from the fact that we've seen his grave).

Maybe I've misunderstood something but I thought I heard 12th and last Doctor.

Or they were so impressed with how pissed off I was, they went back in time, fixed it, you have no memory of it, but I was caught in a temporal rage and so I'm disconnected from the updated timeline a little bit.

I was out of the room for the odd moment near the start. I'm sure I'd heard RTD and the Moff say previously that it was a non-issue.

Guess I could listen to the link Xyro posted. Maybe someone just slipped up between "last" & "latest"? Don't think there's any serious risk that last was meant.

I'm excited, he was a choice that would seem to be going in the direction that I had hoped.
Likewise.

I know that Moff had said that he's been looking for an older actor last time until Matt's audition changed his mind. But even so, with our youth-oriented popular culture I'd suspected that they'd "play safe" an pick a photogenic thirty-something.

Of course it all depends on how they write the part! But he's someone who I could see naturally fitting amongst the earlier incarnations of the Doctor. Plus IMO he was outstanding in Children of Earth :)
