Root does overclocking make web pages load faster?

IMO - nothing to noticable - What would really make a difference is the actual browser itself and how it decodes the information (like opera mini webbrowser).

Also, having more RAM and faster data speeds would make a more noticable speed difference.

It can also make the phone, operate slower than usual. Depending on the setting that you use.

Yeah it will make the browser more smoother to work on and it will handle much more content that before. Also it could help with heavy pages for rendering and processing. So oc'ing will help the pages and even apps to process faster and handle more juice . Although RAM is what makes the app open/close and react faster depending on how much RAM is available.

The battery indeed is faster on mine; on demand, 2016 - 386, light user.

faster 2 dead...lol.

I keep mine on 1k because i saw no noticeable difference from 2k. Web pages or phone actions. Same with RAM. From 250 down to 100 the phone never really got slower. The only thing that was better was the battery. My advice. Put it on 1K and leave it.

It is not noticeable but there is indeed difference ....

I personally think overclocking is over rated. I have an i7 that can overclock to 5Ghz but all I do is normal computer stuff. If I was editing video or something it might help but otherwise my CPU is underclocked based on need.

It is the same for these phones. They were developed and manufactured to work at 1Ghz. You might notice some things open or close faster but the slight increase comes at the cost of battery life, and these phones are already known for poor battery life. I have personally set my phone to cap at 768 Mhz and my max idle at 245 Mhz and rarely have any lag. I have had this setup for the last few days and can easily get 24 hours plus of average use out of it with kanaida's kernal.

I am probably at the other end of the spectrum on this issue, and some may truely see a benefit from OC. I am just not one of them.

Lol same here. I just use my phone for internet and games. Nothing else. Overclocking seems to heat up my phone way to fast.

+1 holy crap thank you!!!!! i also agree man oc'ing serves no purpose for these devices... they run damn good at stock 1ghz... back when i was developing for the g1 oc'ing was somewhat neccesary due to low ram/memory but even then it was pointless in my eyes..

you guys have no idea how good you have it with these phones.. to OC is just like dressing up your pets... yeah it might look good but truley it dies a little inside lol
