Root Does sense have anything else to offer I may be forgetting about?

I plan to use go launcher with pretty much any rom I choose. So I am wondering if there is anything I would be missing from sense if I chose CM7 instead of a sense rom. I will miss the lock ring for sure, as I found one that I could flash that fit in perfectly with my theme. But the better battery life may ease that pain, lol. I know I will lose the sense widgets. But most if not all of those can be found in other apps on the market, right? Is there anything else I would be missing?
 
as much as i love sense, you are completely right. aosp will give you by far the best battery life you will find. for me on cm7 with a tiamat kernel i was getting easily 18-35 hrs off charge with moderate to heavy usage. it does take a little more tweaking and fixes to get everything working, but it is worth is in the end. give it a try and see if you like it. to some it is a matter of preference. some hate aosp and some love it. i used to hate aosp. at the time it just was not for me. i was so used to sense. but then i tried the cm7 and coupled with tiamat and i was hooked.

with the current gingerbread sense, we do not have a custom kernel yet. but with aosp, there are plenty of kernels to try.

Yeah I have posted here before about cm7/sense. And you convinced me to try CM&, which I did for a short while. I wasn't a fan of ADW, but I like go launcher.

I am just wondering if I will be missing anything huge, that I can't think of off the top of my head from sense? What do you love about sense?
 
well for me i love the carousel and the weather lockscreen found in the syn-kingdom rom. as well as everything is fairly stable. like you do not have to do the gps fix or worry about vvm. those things just work on sense very easily. but on aosp you need to do the fix for those. don;t get me wrong thought i love aosp and cm7. i just like to try the latest stuff that these amazing devs are coming up with.
 
I am using GO Launcher with EVO Deck and loving it so far. I am also using Tiamat kernel 4.06 and the battery life so far is amazing. I flashed the Gapps and GTalk video chat files and this is running very well.

I've flashed 4 Sense 2.1/3.0 roms so much, I got bored and moved to Decks. I don't know if I'll leave this one.
 
If you need 4G, stick with CM7, Decks..... the AOSP roms with 4G but if are looking for something different, I highly recommend flashing MIUI;) I've been flashing the last couple releases of MIUI and I like it. Great battery life, extremely fast (faster than any other AOSP rom, imo;)) and highly customizable with many themes, fonts, lock screens to choose from.

The only negative for me is that I live in a 4G area and I hate not having 4G but but I would run this as my daily if it did;)


And before anyone asks, I AM NOT AN IPHONE FAN, NEVER HAVE BEEN, NEVER WILL BE but I like the speed of this rom:)
