Dorimanx kernel - Dummies Guide

Cheers Slug, I'm gonna give 7.41 a bash later and try that to see if it works :)

UPDATE : Was bored at work so have just flashed 7.41 and left it all as default and XP now sees the phone as it should, so all good there! Will see how it beds in over the next few days as before I rooted my battery life was pants, but has really improved since using these great kernals :)

Sorry, The Red Blur! :(

The lure of Dorimanx 7.41, amended, was just too much for me to resist and I cannot oblige with your request for monitoring 7.40.

The good news is that I experienced no shutdown last night... an excellent Deep Sleep, (best so far) and so far everything is behaving itself. :D

No worries. Can't blame you:D

Glad to hear it's working fine

And call me Red or TRB it sounds to formal when you say the whole thing :p

Sorry guys but there is something fishy with this kernel... I just tried to install it on my SGS2 i9100 (CWM 5.5x and stock Samsung ROM 4.04) following the instruction in the first page (i.e. first GS2ROMWipev2.01 and then install the Kernel_Siyah-Dorimanx 7.41), all good with the CWM installation but then after the reboot the phone is stuck at the nice Dorimanx Kernel startup image and nothing, waited for a couple of minutes and still nothing. Tried a coupe of times with taking out the battery and restart and still no luck. So, I had to heimdall flash again the CMW kernel and restore the backup in order to get my phone back.

I don't think I did anything out of the guidelines and I am not sure why it did not work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
IvanV

Not to sure if this kernel is compatible with ics roms or not, I'd have guessed it would be from the name, but that might be where your problem lies!

When you say video, is this the video recorder or the video player?

Looks to be a fix for the stock video player according to TRB post, here.

If I use the extreme battery profile, do I need to turn off the Jelly Bean in built power saving mode?

I've asked that question myself, here...

Just a thought old sloth... are you running the JB Power Saving mode in conjunction with Doirmanx?

No doubt Hawker knows the definitive, boffin, answer to this but it appears that Dorimanx scripts override the Jelly Bean Power saving mode, certainly on SCALING_MAX_FREQ.

From what I can tell, it would appear that the Dorimanx scripts overwrite, take precedence, over the system Power Saving feature.

I could be wrong however! :dontknow:

Hello everyone, I had a problem using "GS2Wiper", and, when i use it, the screen gets frozen with the process "Backing up Android.." How can I fix this?
Excuse my English, I'm from Spain, and my English level is not very well!

You mean the GS2ROMNuke?
GS2Wiper does not back up

Its normal anyway. there is quite often huge amounts of data that gets removed and GS2ROMNuke backs it up to internal sd card first. this can take a long time depending of course how much stuff is in there.
