Root Downloadfile.apk

thats a cache file for something you downloaed from the market, or a browser, say you download Facebook off the market, it will make a downlaodfile1.apk or such in your cache to verify

So whenever we download apps from the market it places a downloadfile.apk in the cache? and then every file after that just adds a number like downloadfile.apk(1), (2), etc.? So in theory I can clear the cache, not download anything and I won't have that file reappear in my cache?

Yes, also remember that your cache partition is so large that having 50 of those files wouldnt even mess with performance!
