Root Drod's 1.5 Overclock

I must admit, I never answered a call when I had the 1.5GHz kernel loaded. I made a call and it worked fine.

But Wednesday night I opted for Adrynalyne's v1.9 kernel.

OC is fun...but the excess battery drain doesn't justify the "real" speed increase...I'm not concerned about benchmarks as I just want fluidity in the actual performance.

Haven't tried the 1.8GHz kernel yet...but I'm sure I will this weekend (just to play around) :)

Which begs the question.....if I can only muster 1.3 out of it, is the battery drain for such a small increase worth the trade off. I'm back to using adrenalines 1.9 battery saver kernal right now. And I used spare parts to speed up all the transitions. It's very, very snappy now.

Agreed. I'm at the 8 hour mark of being off the charger and I'm sitting at 86% battery left. While I haven't used my phone a lot today, I would have been around 70-75% using the stock kernel without underclocking via SetCPU. Phone still is fast so I can't complain.

It's certainly not like the difference with OC'ing the Droid1. The D1 was crawling @ 550MHz. It couldn't even play Angry Birds without jitter until you hit 800MHz.
