Right now I have an OG Droid Razr and I'm not due for an upgrade until July, but my dad has one he most likely won't be using for a while. I like my Razr, even though it has a slightly damaged screen since I broke it in June. My main issue with my Razr was battery life, but since I graduated college earlier this year (and are still working on finding a full-time job), I haven't been on the go as much, so the battery isn't as much of an issue when I can keep it plugged in whenever I'm at home. My mom encouraged me to get a new phone if I was pleased when I was initially considering the GSIII in July but I eventually passed with the prospect of a Razr HD forthcoming, that in turn I was unhappy with as I didn't see the Razr HD as much of an upgrade over what I already have. The bottom line comes down to whenever I do decide on my next phone, I expect it to last me 20 months.
tl;dr:
Reasons to upgrade to Droid DNA:
Beautiful 5" Full HD Screen (I stream Watch ESPN fairly often)
Should have better battery life than my Razr due to the efficient Quad-Core processor
Great price as I was expecting to shell out $299
Have an upgrade available on the account
Beats integration (my primary mp3 player, I use an aux cable in the car too)
Overall feeling of the best phone currently on the market
Reasons not to upgrade yet:
My Razr still works so I'm not desperate (I'm willing to wait until the summer, September at the latest)
Worries about future-proofing since I got burnt on Razr/Razr Maxx
Sense isn't exactly appealing to me (I view HTC a bit gimmicky when compared to Samsung, Motorola, and LG)
Not optimal battery life
Slightly taller than I want, but pretty sure I'd get used to it
16GB storage is a bit limiting, but not a deal breaker
Really menial but no RGB notification light (I like the distinction of my blue "unimportant facebook notification" light, but I'd get over it)
As you see most of my cons are really nit-picky, but the biggest one I'm concerned about is the SGIV (or other phones in Q1 and Q2) out-pacing this and leading to buyer's remorse. Thanks for any and all advice!
