The softtouch keys are very sensitive and the notifications bar is a bit tricky to access especially if you have fat fingers like i do. I end up launching the htc weather app often.

If you put your finger up like on the Verizon logo, then pull it down onto the screen, it's a lot easier to open the notifications.

I think I'm having the pink issue. Has anyone returned the device due to this? I took a pic of this site on my iPod touch and the Inc. The thread looks blue-ish on the Touch, but pink on the Inc. Does anyone else's look this pink?

I read somewhere that it was because the brightness was turned down. Not sure exactly where to check it, but you can try that.

No, there are physically different screens. I've compared my red one to 3 in Verizon stores and none of the ones in Verizon stores had this problem. It is true that it kind of goes away with higher brightness... if I run mine around 50% it's not too bad, but it is not a user error.

Received mine April 29 (my birthday) at 8:00AM from the verizon Store.

It is INCREDIBLE !

More than I expected !

for those that have their new Incredible - is there anything that you DON'T like about the phone?

Only one thing...you can't lock the ringer volume control (+/- buttons that are very large) and nearly every time I touch the phone I change the ringer volume one way or the other. Other than that it's the most awesome phone I've ever had...been using smartphones and BlackBerries for 11 years.

Has anyone actually got the OTA update yet and can report any improvements/ new issues?

Also looks like Android 2.2 is being released June 17... think we are we going to be lucky enough to get the update or is it going to be like the eris.

Anyone thinking that the Incredible will be the 2nd best device on Verizon when the Ally comes out? If the Ally keyboard is anything like the Voyager or ENV2 and their UI is decent I would think so. Thoughts?

I would hope that they would have VZW's flagship phone ready to go with the update asap....i know the eris was delayed, but that phone was sort of the entry-level phone even when it first came out. VZW will probably have to stay on top of this since they told everyone waiting for a N1 to buy an incredible instead....

Does the Ally have 8mb on-board memory? Is there anything the Ally has that ups the DI?

Even if it does, I don't think the Ally becomes the top spot. LG is new to VZW making smartphones, I doubt they'll get it right first time out of the box.

Also, the form factor looks like the Env touch so much so I'm not surprised they didnt call it the Env Droid. The slimness of the DI is awesome, not sure I would want to carry another brick after carrying around the Moto Droid since November and the DI softkeyboard is about as good of a softkeyboard out there.

The phone so far is a little laggy on the home screens. There was an update recently released that fixed some of the issue although I dont remember if it was running it when I tested it.

He keyboard is nice, its your typical good LG keyboard. If the end result shows smooth screen transition, it could probably rival the Incredible but your going to have to like the Voyager-esque design. So far nothign I have seen has come close to the smoothness of the Incredible.

If you're asking because you are having trouble deciding whether or not to buy the Incredible, I'll make it easy for you. Just get the Incredible. You'll thank me later

I finally ordered mine Saturday. Coming from an Eris and looking forward to the DInc!

When I placed my order (online) website showed it would ship by 5/14. I called cs and they said their screen shows on backorder til 5/12. I figured I have a couple weeks, but the next day I get an email saying my phone has shipped and should arrive Tuesday.
I checked the website again and it still shows they are out til 5/14. did I get lucky?
I figured with my luck I will get a box tomorrow that has the back order notification paper in it.
I wouldnt have minded waiting 2 weeks since I was psyched for it, but now that I know it may be here tomorrow and am almost giddy!!!

Anyone else experience anything like that?

Is there any way I can change the name of a program icon? I am using Handcent for messaging but want it to say 'text' or 'messages' instead of 'handcent'

That would end up being more expensive. The ETF on smartphone lines is $350.

I dont know how accurate this is, but I had the Droid Eris (considered an advanced device, $350 ETF) before I knew this baby was coming out. Was pissed when I saw this so I sold the Eris and was gonna pay the ETF and cancel / buy a new plan. Activated an old dumb phone I had while I was waiting (very hard to go from 'king of always connected' back to the 'dark ages' by the way, NOT recommended lol :D) and then called the day of release to see the price of cancelling. They told me it would be $155 (4 months had gone by since plan started). So it appears that if you change the phone you have on your line to a non advanced device, the ETF goes down (at least this was the case in my situation, not sure if this would consistently hold true for everyone).

Hey everyone! Stopping over from the Droid Eris forums seeing as the nice gentlemen at Verizon let me have my mothers one year smart phone upgrade so when I get back from my trip to Germany on the 21'st UPS will be at my front door with my Incredible! I'm so excited I've been in the Incredible forums since the day they opened! Look forward to sharing experiences with all of you!

I already have the Incredible and thus far I love it but I was just posing the question. While there are some things I find annoying about the device (sometimes touch screen is too sensitive) overall it's just one hell of a phone.

Anyone getting strange text messages from the number 6200? I just received on and it said //BREW:0x01017246:TYPE=SAS;UI=1;CONT=0,1,0; and the "01017246" looks like a link (which I am not going to follow). Anything like this out there?

I got a couple of texts similar to that right after activating my phone. A CSR had me reply to the text with the word 'stop' as the message. I havn't had any since.:)
