I think I read somewhere that these ports are also for additional heat venting. I could be mistaken. If not, that's an interesting idea. I'm sure there are some rubber bits that could be fabricated to fit.

I hadn't read that. If that's the case, I probably won't cover them. I just didn't want dust getting in those areas and possibly affect the connection.

Anyone getting strange text messages from the number 6200? I just received on and it said //BREW:0x01017246:TYPE=SAS;UI=1;CONT=0,1,0; and the "01017246" looks like a link (which I am not going to follow). Anything like this out there?

You probably had something like Web Mail enabled for your previous phone. If it doesn't shut off in a few days call *611 and ask for Tech support. Let them know what you are receiving and what phone you had and what you have now. Yeah I know they Should know but they don't always read their screens. They can reset your services and fix it for you. I had a major run around with them several years ago when I had a Samsung Alias for a short period and then went to a Black Berry.

Good luck

Hey everybody, got my incredible the day it came out and am loving everything about it. HOWEVER, I am one of the few unfortunate souls who does not know how to use a computer to save his life (and sadly, I'm 19 lol). I've watched countless youtube videos but none of them seem to FULLY answer all my questions and I've yet to put all the pieces together after dozens of videos. Can anyone who has a regular windows PC, tell me in as simple of terms as they can how to use the USB chord to transfer music from my itunes to my phone? I know I have to set the thing to "mounted" where I get the options to select folders, but how do I even make my itunes music a folder so I can even make it an option to select? Thanks to anyone who helps me out, you're saving my life, literally. My ipod broke 6 months ago and I've been without music on the go forever

I can drag and drop directly from iTunes- I don't need to even go to the folder where the music is actually stored.. I just select all the songs I want and drag them to my SD card folder on the phone..

Does anyone else get picture texts as a flipping power point show type thing? Sooooooooooo annoying!!!

You guys refer to the SD card, and I appreciate the help, but isn't that IN the phone? So far I got how to open the itunes library from the "my computer" section. After I mount my USB where the window pops up, do I just drag the music from the My Music selction on one side, to the USB folder thing on the other? If that's correct, what am I missing to where im not saying "the usb folder thing." I feel like I'm so close lol. I know all the specs and how to use this phone so I'm not some newb who just bought the phone cause it sounded cool, but this one thing has baffled me and you guys have me 1 step away from success. Thanks a lot guys, especially if you can answer that last question.

Love mine, too. Finding new/cool and actually useful stuff every hour.

Replacing trusty (and thoroughly hacked) VX8300. Do miss the lighter/durable clamshell, built-in stereo speakers, $12/yr Hopke web access and simple one-hand eyes-free phoning. Out-of-the-box voice dialing worked better, too.

Regrets aren't at all decisive. After 5 days at home w/ timely bad back, DI still not "part of me" like da clamshell. But patience/persistence looking very promising.

Anyone else having trouble connecting their incredible to a pc? First let me tell you the reason I'm attempting to connect it to a pc. ... I downloaded a ring tone which came with a picture, and even though I uninstalled the ringtone, this picture is still in my phone; and I can't delete it. I'm also trying to OVERHAUL the complex list of contacts. Some are facebook-synced, some are backup assisted, but then there are just 2-3 of the same contact, and I'm just trying fine tune it (keep a good hold on what is in my phone) I appreciate it if anyone can help.

I also got my Dinc on the 29th and agree that most of it is great except for the quality of call and signal strength in areas I prev. had no problems. I will post this elsewhere and have no skin in this web site, but I propose that we all add some measurable data to this map of user-cited reception;

Signal Map - Find the best cell phone coverage in your area, or add your own cell phone signal to the map.

It maps var. providers' strength and gives the opp to cite phone type and "number of bars". For our community, I propose we also add the dBm we find in settings> about phone > Network > For instance, I get -92dBm at my house - marginally effective for call quality. Then, when you see others cropping up in your area, you can compare what you get vs. others. Any takers? I will put up at least four area records in NJ in this way in the next day as I travel.

My sister doesn't think she likes her INC. Prolly is the lack of keyboard and the Android learning curve. She comes from Blackberry. Oh well, I guess this is not for everybody.

even though every verizon store was sold out i was able to get the phone today at Best Buy and they said they only had 1 left... wow im lucky

Just tell her the only thing she will be missing is the blackberry button, and that is only for the first ten minutes or so, trust me I've been a BB lifer up til now!

Im only 1 day in so far as an owner from having a Curve, but have no complaints. I have never had a touch screen or HTC device, but im very happy with both choices.

sorry if it's the wrong place to post but here's my problem. i love the phone, it's amazing. me and my mom got one day of release by pre order. everything is perfect except one thing. when i'm at the gym listening to music with my phone, the songs will randomly start fast forwarding and won't stop. the screen IS locked and when i unlock it it says it is playing and not in fast forward. it's really bothering me. any way to fix it? (it happens about 30 minutes in usually and won't stop unless i stop it. it will randomly fast forward when i don't press a thing. help!).

Has anyone seen a Droid Incredible commercial airing on TV yet? I haven't. Mostly LG Ally and Droid. Shocked that Droid Incredible isn't being marketed heavily

Here's a battery savings tip:

Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks (second one) > Enable Always-On -- checked by default, uncheck it.

That should save up to 15 percent. I got this tip off of our chat channel listed below. If this helps you, add your thanks below and join our channel! ;)
