Yesterday, I was installing some apps on my phone and the dreaded low memory notification appears. WTF, I still have over 500MB of 748MB phone memory available. Being rooted, I was able to look at the free space in the phone and discovered where the problem was. In their infinite wisdom, HTC decided to make the application data storage a separate flash memory (149MB not reported - mounted as /data/data) from the Phone memory (748MB reported as Phone memory under the SD & phone storage settings-mounted as /data). Once the applcation data free space falls below roughly 15MB, the notification shows up. The only solution I have found (for now) is to remove some of the apps that I don't use and have large amounts of data associated with them as reported in Manage Applications. Now to find a way to utilize some of that free phone memory for application data storage.

I am/have been having that problem. Am usually good after clearing data on random apps, got rid of it by clearing data on a wallpaper app last time. Annoying as hell for sure
 
if you are rooted couldn't you just plug your phone in to your computer and mount as a disk drive and do through a windows explorer and moved the pathways around or reformat those two files and repartition them with partition magic... I know it sounds a little crazy but it might work to give you some more room with the apps storage

i am thinking from a computer standpoint on this and having it mounted as a drive you "should" technically be able to do that

Ok.. off to bed. The lights are out and the blinds are down... I even emptied the trash and restocked the cooler. Man I can't wait for the next newbie to grace this lounge.

That is similar to what I am working on, however you can't mount the phone's internal filesystem as a disk on a PC.

What you see with that is the /emmc directory of the phone (in essence, an internal SD card). What I am talking about is root filesystem which contains the system files for the phone's OS.

Been trying to get a 8am web design class for right when i get off work wednesday but it looks like i'm stuck in a network class at 2pm same day:(. So now i will get home at 8am and have class at 2pm... and i'm so NOT a take a nap kinda guy.... Really wanted that web design class too, got some lady bugging the shit outta me to do her a website

Sleep is way over rated lol. Websites aren't too tough unless she's wanting some dang fantsy stuff or checkout with secured server stuff.
Just look online.. there are all kinds of free site maker software on the net. Just dabble a bit, if you haven't already, and have fun.

It's going to take more than a sunny-d fix today. My flat.. in an all but new tire.. was a nail too close to the edge for the Wally World boys to fix. I was able to take it to the used tire place South of town... you konw the spot. Where the prices are cheap, the decor is late forties, and conversation is sparse.. unless you speak something other than english.
They patched it right up and I was on the road.

yeah you have a point there but i am sure there has to be a way that you can access the root file system if you have a full root on your phone if that well then that is just silly haha

if there are any programmers here that could get there hands on HTC update codes then they could write an update that essentially would move the folders on the phones root or uses there code to gain access to the root haha

Yea i been meaning to, just keep not getting around to it. And she don't want anything fancy, single page with some samples of her photography and contact info. I just don't really know where to begin. I know barely nothing about the old hyper text markup language (if my acronym is correct):D
