while wearing gloves screen doesn't function. Now that its cold. Yay, can't answer phone. That poll said that a material could be sewn onto the fingertips of the gloves.
Also noticed that a stylus doesn't function screen. One more reason to move South.

I have a pair of fairly thin Under Armour gloves, sorta like the kind that are meant to be used as ski glove liners, that actually work with my droid. Every press doesn't work, but I think they are just thin enough to register on the screen.

Don't really keep my hands warm below 40 though...

North face makes gloves for capacitive screens.

Really?! Is this a question? As Americans, have we become so lazy we can't even take off our gloves to answer our phone? Even before I had a capacitive touch screen phone, my call/talk button on my flip phone were too small to touch with my gloves on, so I had to take off my gloves even then to answer a phone call.

I don't think it's a matter of being lazy (for me at least), it's about having cold hands (or hand, since you really only need one hand to answer a call/type a quick text).

Etip gloves by North Face (Sold out-except I do think there was one place that had extra large)

Dots gloves (Sold out)

Tavo gloves (bad review)

That's all I found.

They sell "conductive thread" that you can just thread through a normal gloves tips to use any glove. You can read about it on Lifehacker.

I don't know where you live, but up here in Minnesota, taking your gloves off for 5 minutes can cause frostbite. With air temps at 10 below and a windchill of -30, you keep your gloves on.

My gloves, made by CRG, are glove mitten combos. The fingers of the liners let me still use the captive touch on my G1. And yes, it still works normal at -10f.

Same here. My very thin gloves are kind of hit/miss. Such gloves are pretty worthless in the cold but I wear them in stores, etc. because I'm a bit of a germaphobic. The only good solution is to take them off while using the phone.

I remember my friend showed me there's brand called 180 that makes gloves that are especially for touch items, such as th ipod touch (example). I'm sure you can look into those.

Just out of curiosity why do you live there? I have never understood why anyone would subject themselves to these types of conditions.

Those North Face gloves are slick. Being from ND it can be -20 for weeks on end. Those XL should fit good. Going to have to get my self a Christmas gift. Thanks for the heads-up Barbara.

I have several pairs of gloves that work with my phone. One pair is just a pair of motorcycle gloves and another is a pair of flight gloves.

I have a pair of Under Armour winter running gloves and I can use my droid without too much of a struggle.

I think I have those same Under Armor Running Gloves. I will have to try those out. They are the ones that have the sticky UA symbol all over the palm and fingers?

^Yes sir, those are the one. The only thing that doesn't work too well with the gloves are the 4 buttons under the screen and texting using the onscreen keyboard

I use fingerless gloves. they aren't warmest but they get the job done. might think of investing in some of those etip gloves though. my coworker has some but they are pretty thin. was thinking ii'd wear the fingerless gloves on top of the etip gloves to have extra warmth lol.

Not hijacking thread !!!!!!!!!!

Its amazing up here. The first week or so of cold bothers everyone. After that everyone goes back to normal activities. When even mountain bike all winter. I also snowshoe. In January theres even a Winter Carnival with 3 parades, a 12 day long treasure hunt ($10,000) and every few years the build a huge ice palace made from blocks of ice cut from local lakes. I almost forgot Mountain bike racing on lakes.

Anyway winter is just as fun as summer, you just need to dress right.

@Barbara I was in my local EMS and I saw they had all sizes. You gotta visit a few brick and mortar locations but you can find them.

Honestly just buy a nice pair of cheap fleece gloves and then a smalls pool of conductive thread. (Cheapest I've seen) and sew into the index/pointer finger and maybe the middle if you use it. I may try this, this weekend if I can find a similar fleece pair like what I currently have. Don't want to risk ruining them :)

This problem always bugged me too. I just made an app called SkiPhone. My goal is to create a shake interface for all the things you would want to do with your phone on the slopes, so you don't have to take off your gloves. Right now you can place/answer/hangup calls, and I'm working on a way to take pictures too. Check it out at: skiphone.blogspot.com
