OK, so after a series of emails I finally got a manager to call me after threatening to take my 5 lines (4 Android phones) to T-mobile because of their customer service.
The manager said the care packages were for people that did not get their phone on release day because of shortages, but whatever. I got an acceptable substitute. I get 25% off my next accessory and the next line I wanted to upgrade isn't due for an upgrade until 11/2011, but the manager made it available for upgrade immediately. So now I get to buy my daughter a new X or Droid 2 next month at contract price and sell the droid 1. At least Verizon did something after I complained enough.

But it is bullshit if they really are only sending it out to people in the northeast.

I pay over $350 a month to verizon, that is business they don't want to lose. Before they send out things like this randomly they should at least consider their customers that spend a lot of money with them and make sure they are thanked for their valuable business. I am not getting a care package, but like I said earlier they offered me an acceptable substitute after I complained enough by making one of my lines eligible for an upgrade 15 months early.

If it was never reported or posted, you would have never been the wiser. I understand you position, but to go to the extremes that you did comes off extremely prickish, hence why I think you're receiving the flack for your story.
Also, you technically could cut your VZW expenditures down a bit, I mean an 8 year old with a Droid?!![]()
