Droid X gets smoother over time

My Droid X has started serving beers now! It didn't at first, but now it does! Sweet....

Well you know how it is when you install a new ROM on the Droid you got let it set in.:) So this may be something happening along the same lines

Perfect example! Seriously though when I first installed 2.2 my Droid was dragging ass. Was really sloppy and immediately regretted it. :p

Next morning the phone was zipping all over the place from then on out.

I really think the phone just needs to learn or get used to its new setup so it can then run more efficiently. I know I definitely noticed a speed increase the day after I got it before I switched the live wallpaper. It's not all in my head! Haha

Oh yeah I also suggest you all get the spare parts app. Let's you have more contol on how fast certain things open and a bunch of other stuff. Makes the phone even faster.

When I first got my phone today, I noticed it was very laggy as well when switching menus and stuff. Got a ton better after a few hours of use though. :)

For some reason mine came with the fixed wallpaper as the default though. I switched to the live one and it slowed it waay down at first. Went back to the regular one for now, till I find one I like at least.

The X has processor/power management. Something like Battery Saver, Smart, and Performance. Maybe the phones are config'd differently.

I think figured out the problem, the difference between a fast and slow Droid X is how you hold the device. Try switching hands. While I'm 100% sure this happens on an X, I heard this is a problem on some makes of phones.

I went to a VZW corp store to pick one up. While I waited I messed with the only display model they had and I thought it felt slow scrolling from screen to screen compared to Incredible. The Incredible just felt really snappy. I also thought the screen was a bit washed out.

I took a picture of the info card above the phone with both the X and my incredible and the picture on my incredible was clear and legible, not so much on the X. The camera is an improvement over the original Droid but a tad slower than the Incredible.

There werent many apps running on this either.

With that being said, I was still going to pay full price for one. I get up to the register and there are none left in stock. If the Incredible gets the 720p/hotspot update in the next few days, it will probably be enough for me to hold of for the next latest and greatest.

I just played with it in the store, the thing was a snail. And the screen was not as responsive as my incredible or my EVO! First time I'm doing this......I'm going to wait! After a few days of reviews I'll decide on whether or not to pull the trigger.

Its the app drawer. I'm just thinking that I may have copied something I shouldn't have.

you mean you backed up a app from your previous android phone? yes that may be an issue. Some apps work fine backed up, and some dont and cause issues on your device. I know it has been a issue for me in the past, now i only fresh install.

At the moment i am converting movies i own into the droid x format so far the screen is very impressive with the first movie (youth and revolt)

i am going to try a action movie with a high speed scene to see how the screen keeps up

This morning my screen transitions are so smooth on the stock launcher. I dont know why or how, but Im not complaining!

If you are not going to buy this phone because of a laggy floor model that you played with, you are doing your self a major injustice.

Man I thought my phone was FAST as soon as I got it...can't wait to see what it will be like with this speed up!
