Droid X getting Honeycomb?

It's my understanding that:

Gingerbread is the successor to Froyo for Android phones. Honeycomb is an exclusive version of Android for tablets. Ice Cream will be a merger of Honeycomb and Gingerbread that will have all of the features of both and then some, and be for both phone and tablet. There is no word on if the Droid X will receive anything beyond Froyo but some people have obtained a release of Gingerbread that works on the Droid X somehow so that suggests the X will at least get that.

Honeycomb is built for tablets
The fact that gingerbread has leaked proves that the X is getting 2.3

With all that said, there is 2.4 which is gingerbread with honeycomb features
so Motorola MIGHT skip 2.3 for 2.4. After that though, beside a serene miracle
The X will not see an upgrade after gingerbread.

After that, the Xs fate lies with the developers. FREE THE BOOTLOADERS

Would be AWESOME if after the 'end-of-life' date Moto released the key to unlock the bootloader wouldn't it! I'm not holding my breath, but one can dream.

As history has shown, I certainly wouldn't get drawn in to rumors that offer release dates because it will become a frustrating wait for you. It is possible that the X has seen it's last major upgrade beyond leaks. It's obvious that we are dealing with a phone that can handle an upgrade, but oh the "hassle" for Motorola to get the next Android and then Blur it.

It'd be even more awesome if Motorola sent swimsuit models to each customer's house with a bottle of chocolate syrup and instructions to write the bootloader key in syrup on their bare stomach.

...you know, while we're dreaming.

****ing A, you're absolutely right! If we're gonna dream then go big or go home!

Right then, so I'll see your swimsuit models and chocolate syrup and raise you Heather Graham and Milah Kunis showing up on an Augusta F4 and a Audi R8 with a bottle of liquid Lortab cough syrup (like I got when I was going through radiation for 6 weeks... heaven in a bottle!).

Your turn to bet!
