Droid X keyboard on Eris

Yea, can anyone post pictures? I want to see if the keys are bigger.

Here you go:

Guys, here's a Q&D snapshot of the three keyboards I posted above with just the keyboards showing. I also included a snippet of the left portion of each keyboard to compare the relative heights of each. Enjoy!

Click to view them in a larger window :):

Sorry I was confused and thought compact Qwerty was the name for portrait keyboard.

Portrait keyboard is what's important.

i saw a compact qwerty option when i used it. went back to shapewriter but im quite certain there was that option

Anyone who wants haptic feedback, try this version instead. (If you can't install it over the old version, just uninstall and reboot first.)

great job getting it to work for everybody. . . too bad the eris's multitouch gets too confused when crossing its mid points. but aside from HTC dropping the ball on that one, awesome job getting it to work so fast.

Anyone want to try this version and tell me if it works?

DroidXIME-nonroot.apk

I tried just putting the required libraries inside the APK itself, so even non-root users will be able to install it. But since I already ran my own flashable ZIP, I can't test this.

UPDATE: Seems to be working! Just download this onto your phone and click to install it. Or put it on your SD card and use a file manager to find it and click it.

Ive downloaded this .apk but it won't install like other .apks (you know, how the installation automatically starts when your phoneis plugged up). any ideas?

works perfectly

Speech to text really does work great and is pretty accurate. This is the feature that is keeping me using this over the stock keyboard. I like swype too but I find myself getting a bit frustrated and tapping away anyway. Thanks again Nestor!

When does the actual multitouch aspect of this actually kick in? I tried holding shift and another letter but nothing happened.

Either way though, I've seem to have gotten used to HTC's hide keyboard button. Dang you HTC lol
