Steven you're right I had not realized that the Droid X didn't come with 2.1 stock so I assumed it was referring to the 2.2 update. I have replaced the link with the orig engadget post. Sorry about that. Thanks for the catch.

I seriously hate www.droidforums.net! I explained the problem that I was having with my phone (the phone would not respond to my touch). & I get this:
He can almost guarantee that it was an app running on my phone...haha funny since I had already done the factory data rest and still nothing changed. I hate when people assume shit!
Even the vzw techs/reps knew that a droid x shouldn't be running like that.
Also that whole forum just sucks at giving people answers, I got two answers on that thread that didn't even help me one bit. I'm no longer a part of that forum. I shall stay faithful here!

I'm having a big problem, half the time that I am using the phone doing normal things ex: writing a text, going to the market, opening up an app, etc. the phone will not respond to my touch. I have to lock my phone and then unlock it to get it to respond.
I personally don't think that is normal and if it is it should not be a normal thing someone has to deal with.

Are you running beautiful widgets with beautiful home weather? I have to two touch my phone when this is active.
If you have something like that running then that could be the reason why you need an extra touch. If not then you probably need to try and do a Factory Data Reset on your X to see if it will fix the issue. I can almost guarantee it's some app that is causing this.

actually I think what they gave you is sound advice minus the last sentence. but keep in mind not everybody who answers a post is an "expert". On a public forum you aren't always going to get an answer that is 100% correct all the time. No real reason to come on here a bash them.

He told me to try a factory data rest as if I hadn't already done that...any person with a brain knows to do that.
&I didn't like that he deleted my clever sig.
I mean really, is anyone here offended by my sig? doubt it.

Yea I'm glad vzw was a lot of help yesterday. We did some trouble shooting and then they decided to just send me a new phone since nothing was being fixed. yay!
Yea, I never saw my sig being offensive.

Can you give me a hand and help explain to these people how email protocols work? There is a new mail client out there, akin to K9 and Touchdown, called "Seven". People are touting it as "makes every email address from Yahoo, GMAIL and Hotmail PUSH EMAIL" OMG!!!

The email client is nothing special, and there is no actual way for a client to make all these email addresses perform push email, aside from possibly pre-populating the client with the correct server settings. Nothing you cant do in Android OS natively.

Sorry that wasn't real clear was it... about every 2 minutes I get a notification from android. Lots of people selling droid things and announcements for everything to do with droids, google... yadda yadda yadda...
It seems to be coming from some site where people post things as it usually has locations and sometimes user names associated but I have been unable to determine where it is coming from.

Random question does anybody know what the best movie converter is for the X? I've tried a couple but they either mess with the resolution and make it only like half the res or they dont allow the Droids Resolution when entered.

Does it show up in the top notification bar? If so what icon does it show next to it? is it a closed envelope or an open envelope with a letter coming out of it?
In fairness to the mod, did u already mention u did a factory reset before he replied? U would be surprised that some ppl dont wanna even try it, even after knowing that it might fix the problem.
And he did use "could be" "probably need to" and almost guarantee"

thats the thing i love about VZW is their customer service is the best i have ever had, well the *611 not so much in the stores

Handbrake works fine. It's open source.
I would agree with that. The tech support in the stores has been good for me, though.

You figure if they go and get a job at a phone store they would be able to do something with them besides send a text or basic update stuff...
When i was in high school i was the guy in my auto shop that installed everyone's systems and car steros so one day i thought what the hell and go check out best buy to see if i could learn anything new from them.
So i go and i am sitting there and talking to some guy about what amps would be able to push my speakers the best and how i would need to hook them up, within a few mins i realized he had no clue what he was talking about so i was just like well thank you i think im good now and walked off LMAO.
(pointless story i know)
but as for a phone related one, i went into a vzw store one and the guy couldn't even open up the phone the right way without trying a for a min it was like the Samsung Flipshot... So yeah needless to say i walked out.
