One of the things to show him up in is battery life. I hope u have a good battery and a good phone.

Do some video recording and compare the audio, take some pictures, play Angry Birds...lol I hear Inc and EVO users have issues with the game even starting. My X plays it beautifully.

I was going to suggest the exact same thing. On a side note I finally got 3 stars on all levels of angry birds!

Yeah, I love flaunting my scores infront of my wife. I'll watch her get frustrated with a level for a good 10 minutes then just hold out my hand.

I'm looking forward to the start of the NFL regular season tomorrow. meeting up at Hooters with a bunch of cowboys fans to watch the game. Definitely going to be showing off my X.

Had a great day. Now, I'm catching up on my post whoring. (shameless bump)

Hope everyone's having a great weekend! :D

I'll also be meeting some friends to watch the Redskins game. :)

Even though the outcome will probably be in the 'boys favor, I'm stoked for the start of the NFL season.:)

I'm new here, thought I'd introduce myself...

I love my smartphones ~ I started with the Motorola Q, and was immediately on those forums learning how to customize it, and loved how people were so creative in finding things to change and fix.

So then I got a BB Storm 1, and HATED it! I couldn't stand that I wasn't allowed to put anything but pix & music on the mem card! That meant the phone's memory was quickly used up and it started working in slo-mo. If I had had to call 911, I would have died trying to get the damn keypad to come up! Also, I don't use the internet at home; just at work and on my phone, so I couldn't get system updates unless I took it into the Verizon store, and then I would have lost all my contacts.

I was soooo happy when my X came in, and am excited about customizing it. But now, I'm a single mom, and I don't have the time to do all the research I did for my Q. So what are your favorite mods? (Sorry if there's a thread just for that elsewhere; like I said, I don't have much time for research, I'm at work now.) Also, can somebody tell me exactly what "tethering" is? I'm a little slow sometimes.

Another reason I haven't done a whole lot to my phone is that I'm waiting to get the Froyo update. I don't want to make it just right and then have to start over...

I love the Swype input method; that's genius! (And good to know it works well if you're drunk!) I also love... well, everything about it!

The one thing I miss from my Storm is the nearly-fantastic Facebook interface. I wish there was a simple way to interact with FB without having to go to the website. One thing I don't miss? My Storm's clock was always 10-30 mins slow. Weird, huh? This is especially important since my watch broke...

I'm frustrated with my battery life. I'm having to charge in the middle of the day and I am a light-moderate user. I plug in if I have to do something draining. Also, I love Verizon for the signal I get *everywhere*, but even if I'm using the Wi-Fi at work, it seems to drop or have problems loading websites. Shouldn't it switch between Wi-Fi & 3G if the signal is low? How can I optimize signal strength?

Any other little tricks? I haven't really done the tutorials. Getting around to it, I promise! I didn't discover Swype until I'd had the phone for like a week...

Thanks for your helps, and I'm glad to see such a friendly community!

here is just a quick start. download universalandroot and root your X (1 Click root) then update to the leaked froyo. Get LauncherPro Plus. it has a Facebook widget that is great, I don't know how it compares to BB though.

Go to my profile and look at some of my other posts, I have tons of screen shots on here and a lot of threads I'm in have great info on mods and customizing.

I've had my DX since Thursday and I am loving this phone. Gald I decided to wait instead of getting the D2 (even though the phone is just as cool) I like the larger screen.

Hello everyone. Ive been lurking in the DX forums for about a week now :) so I figured its time to say "hi".
Got my DX a couple of days ago, and all I have to say is "DANK"- it is sweet. I jumped ship from Sprint and the HTC Hero (my wife is still with them and my rooted, froyo'd, overclocked and undervolted Hero but not for long; D2 is on the very near horizon for her).
The phone itself is amazing, but what I am really blown away with is the network. Sprint does not even come close, and I do live very, very close (20 miles) to Chicago. One would expect the coverage on a major network to be at least decent- not the case with Sprint. Another reason for coming to Verizon was Sprints customer service. After being hung up on TWICE by a manager, I have decided that its time to take my money elsewhere. The extra couple of dollars a month is definitely worth it.

Now, where is that 2.2 OTA??? :) :) :)

Just setup my Droid X today!

Congrats, brother! Joined the club, I see! PM me if you have any more questions. I use several apps to put a sense of "sense" ui on my phone. I use Launcher pro plus, WidgetLocker and Beautiful Widgets. I think I may have already told you that though. :p

Glad you signed up! I'm afraid you'll have to get in the back of a loooooong line of whiners (like me) who want 2.2. ;) Welcome! :D

I'm not bashing anyone.. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to me.

Also, Whats ZTP?

Ohh Zero Tolerance Policy.

I didn't intend that to be mean or anything, was just a joke. My apologies.

OTD hit on this on a diff thread and how she explained it was A LOT of threads were being "stickied" and taking up the room for new posts to show up. So they limited the amount of threads that could be sticky on any given forum.

It makes sence to me cause i like to see different posts

Quick question...What's the learning curve like? Since I'm coming from a Storm 1 to a Droid X?

I too came from the Storm 1 to the Droid X and it is by far the best move I've ever made. The thing that helped me was the implementation of Swype. It is by far the easiest and best method of typing in my opinion. I also like the fact that you can't get dust or debris under the screen. My Storm's screen looked like it was trying to start an ant farm under its screen.

It was a really bad game I admit, but it is also hard for any team to win when you have to play the opponent and the refs.

Or you could really blame the game lost on your boy with more penalties against him then anyone else in the NFL lol. If it wasn't for that hold the touchdown would have counted and the win would have gone to dallas.

That Skins- Dallas game is the reason I got to work late today...lol. The first thing I said to myself when they did player intros was...he doesnt look like an O Linemen...Seeing him on the field he is big tho. That was like the 2nd-3rd holding call they got him for?

I'm a Skins fan....but that hold let the Skins off the hook...just turned out to be a Classic Skins-Dallas game...

Although if he didnt hold Orakpo it mighta been a sack...and if he woulda blocked him better it woulda been a Dallas win...wild ending....
