I'm semi-retired, show dogs for a profession, and travel a lot by big Chevy Express Conversion Van. The X has been a perfect device for making these trips out easier.

I saw an "experienced" woman with the X on the subway. I kept looking because she had a case on it, it was kind of hard to tell what phone she had. But I recognize that camera hump anywhere...lol

Feels good seeing women using the X.

Although many thought the X was a masculine form factor, to me it just looked like ALL business:-) I've waited a long time for a device like it! 61 yrs. to be exact! lol

As for Angry Birds...arrrrrrrrrrrgh! Yes, it is driving me to having grey hair (have none..thanks to L'Oreal). I cheated and asked my 30 yr. old son to get me past a few levels...hehe....ok, ok...I'll go back and work through them myself:-)

BTW, a woman in her 60's is the New 40's!!!!
 
For sure, my aunt always says she is Forever 21. And i love that. I am not very experienced, ha, love that word now, but i am also a female.

The droid x definitely has a masculine form factor, compared to say the evo with its curves, but i think it is safe to say the android os definitely is one for smart people that like choices. whereas the iphone os appeals to people because of its simplicity. overall, i like android, and the droid x, on the best network is a good choice.

Yea Angry Birds....I finished the Lite version. Waiting to spend my money for the full version.

meh not as sexy as the other one. I have never been a fan of red. I hope they change it like they did with the incredible.

As I recall, you need root and there's a thread in the droid x root forum on this. Sorry. :(

You do not need a ROM, you are just applying a theme. There are several with a black notification bar:

NexTheme and REVOlution are in the all things root section plus there are several more over at the XDA forum. All the threads with the themes include the instructions on how to install as there are a couple different methods depending on how the theme is packaged.

Quick question...What's the learning curve like? Since I'm coming from a Storm 1 to a Droid X?

It depends on the person i came from the storm 2 and i felt right at home after the first day. However i know of people that mess with phones for a month and still don't know how to send a text in under 5 mins.

Guys, ugh, i feel so sad today, i went into a vzw store and saw the fascinate and fell in love. I feel like i am cheating on you guys, but i will be getting the fascinate, the screen is gorgeous and the size is perfect for me. I love the droid x, but it was taking too long to come. Hope we can still be friends? :) :) :)

PS: I feel like there were too many sexual connotations in there :p
 
What's everyone been up to?

I went on vacation last weekend. This coming week I should be getting my new car (I special ordered it and it is on its way to the dealership now) and I am moving into my new house.

I've also been rooting a couple of family/friend's phones for them. They were scared about screwing up but after getting enough practice modding my X it is like second nature to me now.
 
Doing fine, thanks. Hope you are doing the same. It was nice going away last weekend. We went to the PA Renaissance Faire. Had a lot of fun.

Still loving my DX.

That's cool, me and the family went to the Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. The DX made the driving there and back go a lot smoother also.
 
hey, I'm new to the hole smartphone world, so I just jumped in and got the Droid x yesterday, but i'm not too sure how to use all its features. I could use any and all help on getting my X up and going, so I can show up my brother and his HTC EVO.
