I first saw this and got pretty excited. I really like the tablet form factor, but does anyone else think Android doesn't work for this? I mean, the iPad is only usable because of apps and iTunes integration; I love Android, but the app situation is getting sad. There's no integrated spotlight and there's so much junk to sort through. I can't imagine if I were a developer. Also, I don't want to have download a cheap-looking Rockplayer to play divx movies on a tablet, and there's nowhere to download them from. I'm thinking this whole avalanche of Android tablets is going to look really ugly. Anyone else agree?

P.S. Can Google get video podcasts in Listen? They're a multi-billion dollar corporation and they can't throw some money out there so that I don't have to use multiple programs to subscribe to podcasts?

I would take an ipad over an android tablet right now just because I have an android phone to diversify apps, and I will never own another iPhone. What I am looking forward to is a tablet running chrome OS, I will probably jump on that as soon as it is released.
 
Yeah, I would like to see Chrome OS used on a tablet; I'm hoping that Motorola's will use Chrome OS. There just aren't Android apps built for a tablet right now, but every single tablet they're showing on Engadget is Android-based. You'll be able to buy these $50 in a year or so, as the companies try to clear out their inventory.

I read somewhere that a chrome tablet was in the works for the holiday season

Listening to the apple event, so much BS! I can't believe how people just cant see that they just knowingly leave out features so that they can call them new later on?
 
The owners of the Droid X are much more level headed than the nuts in the HTC Incredible area!

Wowza. You say ANYTHING bad about that phone, fact or not, and they are all over you as an iPhone lover and all.

Thanks for keeping this section of the forums fair and balanced.
Glad to be part of this crowd with my phone to arrive in a week or two.. hopefully.
 
Funny, I noticed the same thing when I was trying to decide between the Dinc and the DX. They seemed much more defensive and adversarial over there. Here, it's all peace, love and understanding. :) We rock!
 
Im guessing they are mostly bitter because they bought what at the time was the best android device on verizon, only to quickly be surpassed about a month later by the X. :D

Yeah, people here are more sane, just don't go to the Motorola.com Droidx forums. Those people have unrealistic beliefs in what to expect from Moto.

Comments like. "How dare you put blur on this phone and not allow me to uninstall apps."

People here have a fair understanding about it and at least will Shut up, root thier phones and fix the issue. Instead of thinking their voice on a forum, will actually be heard by someone who actually cares what the minority of people think about something that the 10's of thousands of users either like or have no clue what moto blur is.
 
Though i am sure a lot of people here are level headed like you have described but i must say that not all of us are angelic (no matter how much we try)...

I think they are more on the other end of the spectrum because theirs isn't the newest and coolest...

I expect we will turn to their mantra when our beloved DX is no longer the new shinny toy on the playground.

Only time will tell

Frankly I agree. What's the point of putting trail ware on a phone and not letting us uninstall it if we don't want to buy it? I'm I suppose to answer "NO I DON'T WANT TO BUY, Continue trail" for the next two years? STUPID!

I basically have to void my warranty to remove the crap.
 
I'm going to escalate this into a major issue. In order to do that, I can either move this or copy it to the Incredible forum or move it to the Lounge (where it belongs). I think I'll move it to the DX lounge. ;)

Actually, I'm in both forums. I like the guys there. We all have our hot-heads. Just wait until Froyo comes out for DX, you'll see some hot-heads here too!
