***Droid X Software Update***

Did a manual check for updates early this morning around 6-7am central time(Iowa). Install took around 5 mins or so. Haven't played with it much since.

I just installed my update (I didn't get a popup notification, but it was available when I checked for it). The camera is superfast now! Has anyone noticed a difference in the auto focus? Before I would push halfway down to focus, hear the sound, and then push the rest of the way down to take the pic - two step process. Now I push the button and it focuses and shoots in one step.
Seems a little more snappy. My battery meter adjusted itself after the update. So that must have been fixed :) Camera is faster and I did notice the change in the autofocus. Just one step now?

Had to manually select the upgrade. Took only 5 minutes, just as advertised.

Hey Janitor - I'm experiencing the same issue with the Home key.

One new thing I noticed (new for me anyway) but if I press the Home key twice, Voice Command starts up. May have been that way before but I wasnt aware of it.

Does anyone else not have the menu come up when the hard home button is pressed on the center home screen?

Hey Janitor - I'm experiencing the same issue with the Home key.

Same here, I have to touch the "up" arrow on the screen it's self to get into the App Drawer. I used to be able to press the hard home button when on the center screen to get into it.

If you press the hard 'HOME' button twice, the voice command menu comes up, a nice touch, if you ask me.
The battery shows more charge but still seems to descend in 10% increments. When I installed the new update, the battery charge 'widget' went from about 50% to 70%.

Got the OTA at about 11pm last night, the 19th of July

Ummmm...what? The "up arrow" brings up the app drawer, not the widget menu. And the long press of the home button should bring up the task switcher.

On a side note, my battery life is now phenomenal! Still at 90% when I would normally be at ~60%.

Sorry, that's what I meant...the app drawer...fck...i'm new to these bad boys.:D

A single press of the hard home button used to bring up the app drawer when on the main (center) home screen...it no longer does after the update.

I'll fix my post to correct the terms:o

Still didn't get my update :( I've manually checked for updates every hour on the hour since midnight last night. I'm in eastern Tennessee.

I checked a few times this morning too and nothing. So I restarted the phone checked again and it was there! Update went well, but haven't noticed any differences yet.

Pushed update on East Coast at 8:50am via wifi. Pulled from charger at 8:30am, with wifi and GPS enabled with moderate-heavy use battery showing 70%. Aside from disabling animated wallpaper to speed up overall performance no noticeable difference in functions.

Side note: New MyVerizon app took a couple of tries to start up but after 3 attempts I was re-routed to Market and then Update. Widget and app work fine.

SSide note: Strange how the battery level is always in increments of 10% unless notified below 15% warning to plug in charger. Anyone else notice this? My BB always was more precise, or at least displayed the actual number.

Alls well so far - will continue to update battery life throughout cycle.

I didn't even know about the single press of the home button...I'm new too. ;)

Heck, I didn't even know that pressing it when on a non-home screen would take you to the home screen

I need more play time...

It happened again, everytime i restart the phone since installing this update i get no service when restarting the phone. i have to turn on wifi and toggle the airplane widgets and then restart the phone to get service, the weird thing is that i'm the only one reporting this problem so far.

FYI for those of you looking to root your phones here's the latest from BirdMan on this update...

@Droid_X_Forums id say dont update, ill look it over and figure out if it closes any holes

If anyone finds out if/when it's safe to update please let us know.
Because I'd like this update but not at the cost of lessening chances to root or boot-load.
-Thanks..
