Droid X2 VS Droid Charge VS Thunderbolt

These are my phone choices that I have (tried sprint and the evo 3d, loved the phone hated the service, going to cancel before my 30 day trial is up) and i need to pick one asap. I would like to wait until the fourth to try and get the bionic but i cant. I just wanted some feedback from my trusted droid x people, considering that is the phone i wish i still had, about which one is the best first. Let the debate begin!

Droid Charge is a pretty good device. it has much better battery life than the Thunderbolt, but it only has a single core. It all depends on what's important to you I guess.

i really want a fast processor and 4g isnt available in my area but it could be when i move in a year. i did quadrants on all of them at the store and the dx2 trashed all of them at like 2253 but everyone i have read that had the original droid x hates the droid x 2. so that makes me hesistant. tbolt has AWEFUL battery life, and ive heard about gps issues and signal problems with samsungs but not the charge specifically and the charge had the worst quadrant score at 933

havent heard anything about it really. i really would like to stay with a phone that has one of the bigger screens though

i wonder what that will do to the phone....i heard the dx2 gets hot than a mutha too though. i have pretty much ruled out the tbolt unless some bombshell of knowledge comes my way. the charge seems awesome but there is still some d1 nostalgia with the dx2. plus i already have an extended battery and some screen protectors. and the charge has an awesome screen. its almost a coin toss with the price too 49.99 to 99.99

I sounds like you have made up your mind on the DX2 and are looking for someone to tell you why you should not. I have read where they are close, or have 2nd-int working on the DX2 as well. This is huge because then CM7 and MIUI should both be coming. This is huge because I think the biggest issue with the DX2 will be a development community since this in not a HUGE upgrade from the DX and still has the same major issue, a locked bootloader. If they came out with a DX version that was 4G with a front camera, I would use my upgrade that I have today and jump all over it. However there is not one, so I am sticking with my DX, I just love the style and how good of a phone it is.

no 4g in my area right now but i should be moving a year but i dont know to where (law school)

something to think about...

when you turn your phone on and are using it...what is the part of the phone you see the most?...the screen....

which phone has the better screen?...the charge...

and it will certainly have the larger development community of the two...

only problem is that CM7/MIUI on the DX2 will still suffer from the same hardware limitations that the current OGX suffers from...no use in buying a fancy new phone and having to sacrifice hardware...

haha yeah that is kind of the case. i am just really hesitant to go to the dx2 because it seems like everyone that goes to it from a droid x is dissapointed. and dont mean to sound like a noob here but what is cm7 and miui?

If i had to get a new phone today, i would go for the D3.
Its dual core, okay on battery, 3g, front camera, and made by moto :) plus its got a 4" screen so it wouldnt be a HUGE difference

Yeah and considering I will be going thru amazon to get the phone I won't really have that option. Both have their pros and cons its almost a coin toss to me at this point. Ordering tonight though so I am going to have to make a decision.

what do you decide? lol

got home late last night so i didnt get a chance to order, HOWEVER i did pretty much make up my mind that i am going to get the charge considering it is 4g (just in case it comes to my area sooner than expected) and because i feel like i have more freedom for customization down the road. leave it stock for a little while then add a launcher, then root it, then go nuts with it. you know the natural progression lol

lol. cool beans :)

Thunderbolt. Root it, ROM it, and be done with it. Fast as hell, stable, and 20+ hours on my battery courtesy of DasBAMF 3.0. The screen won't be as good as the charge but the charge to me feels cheap, like cheap plastic.
I honestly hated my bolt til i rooted it. It had the random reboot issues and battery was terrible. Froze up at random spots and was so clunky. A week after owning it, it was rooted and ROMed. Been in love ever since. I use my phone quite heavily. Texting, facebook, twitter, and pandora/music app while at work. Its usually unplugged at 8 am then plugged in playing music via pandora/music app from 2 til 10 pm. After Im off work its usually around 40-60 percent. Which I do text while at work as well.

I still think the tbolt trumps the other 4g phones available right now and you can unlock the bootloader. Sorry moto fans!
Our development community is king compared to the other 4g devices.
