so what should your system version and andriod version be after the update?
HHmmm... well I flashed back to stock 2.2.1 and then tried to install the signed update.zip but the installation keeps aboring with status 7. Has anyone been able to use the signed update.zip?
so is there a way of updating to Gingerbread without wiping all of the data off my phone? Can't tell if I read the poster above correctly, is that what you stated?

Did you ever figure out what the issue was? I'm having the same problem.

If you don't want to wait, dl the update.zip file and do it manually.Still waiting for the OTA....crap!

You don't have to be. I'm not rooted and it worked out fine. I think that they make it OTA so that Verizon can control how many people get it at a time, that way their servers don't get overrun. There's a link towards the beginning of this thread to where the official OTA update is located. Grab it there if you would like. There is also a post with pretty good instructions on how to install it. I've never installed it manually, so they helped me. Pretty simple process, just make sure you download the signed version.I'm not rooted. Why does it have to be OTA and not on VZW's site? Thought they wanna cap data use....
i havent tried this yet , but are you on current radio 12p?..I am on 07p.I have tried everything and can't get this to install. I originally tried the signed update.zip after flashing back to 2.2.1 and doing a factory reset. I then tried rooting and using method 2 through both the Droid X and Droid 2 Bootstrap but still got Installation Aborted with status 7. I then flashed back to 2.2.1 again, did another factory reset, cleared the cache, formatted my SD card and tried the signed update.zip again, but still status 7. uuuuuugh.
Anyone got a link to the signed official udate to download? If there is no difference between it and the OTA, why wait?
