Had this worked for anyone who put their refs here? I did not get a single click, Oh whell, good luck to the rest of you.

put your referral back up. I had 3 people sign up but only got credit for two because one person hasn't installed it yet.

I'd like to thank everyone for using my referral link. Dropbox sends emails giving the person's name to me and I can see all the email addresses used to sign up with my referral link on my Dropbox account

Hero user here. is there a QR code for the market app? Not seeing it on 1.5, fear it may be only 1.6+ supported (like so many other things)

I think Dropbox is super (and anyone who would like to sign up, do use one of the links above, or kindly use this: https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTUzMjk2MzM5 )

But I just became aware of Microsoft's Skydrive: SkyDrive - Windows Live, whose main advantage is that they give you 25GB for free, as compared to Dropbox's 2.5GB. It's not as slick as Dropbox, which automatically syncronizes files over several computers, but it's got an easy to use drag-and-drop interface.

Cheers

skydrive is ok because of its size. but other than that it's not very useful imo, given the other available options. it's decent for backup, but it's easier to backup onto a (much roomier) external drive or another networked computer. i guess having offsite backup is nice, but i just don't find it that useful in general. it's the syncing that makes dropbox amazing, and skydrive lacks that feature.

what skydrive is good for in order of utility:
1.) offsite backup
2.) accessing your files via web browser
3.) sharing

Just downloaded and installed dropbox. I love it so far.

What's the best app to use right now for dropbox until the official app comes out? TIA.

The app hasn't been released yet. Those saying they have installed it are using an un-official app which the developer of said app has annoyingly called 'Dropbox'. The official app should be coming in the next month or so.

Seems DroidBox pro is still better. Exactly the same, except DroidBox Pro will easily let you upload any file type. Until the official app gets true syncing, I'm sticking with DroidBox Pro.

umm, what's the point with no syncing? isn't that the whole point of the software?
i can manually upload/download stuff easy enough with plenty of other means already

I was thinking the same thing. New Dropbox user myself (only installed it on laptop and desktop yesterday) but considering I already access all my desktop files via FTP on the handset, I can't see the point of Dropbox if it's not actually syncing the files.

I can open something in Dropbox and it seems to get copied to my SD card. But assuming I make a change to it on the desktop, is the old unchanged file still going to be sat on my phone?

perhaps giving it more than a day or so on the market might find your complaints addressed. Its version 0.9.7.
