Well 5 minutes after i got my bionic i dropped it about 4 feet onto cement!:mad::mad: I looked down and saw 3 peices, battery screeen battery cover. SHIAT!!!!! put battery back in cover on and turned it on and have not seen any problems at al!:) All i did notice was a little ding in the bottom left corner where it hit by the menu soft touch key. I was glad i got insurance though i thought i was gonna need it!

Nightmare!!!

i was suprized, it doesnt look that durable but im a witness it may be a little stronger than i thought at first.:D

Ouch! Glad it's okay.

I can't find a case I like yet. Seems as though there aren't many out.

I agree...but I am scared to move around much with this BEAST! It is hard to get a good hand on it. I have to get a case soon!!!!:D

I'm actually tempted to pickup the extended battery due to the extra weight and grip on the back.

I imagine I'll be able to grip the edges better with the extended battery.

I got insurance on it because there's no case or screen proctectors that I've seen yet. I'm probably going to have it naked for a month or two before I get a case or something. So if I drop it or what not I'm protected.

I think all phone makers should go with Gorilla Glass. It definitely has the best reputation and works incredibly well. Never again will I use plastic screens or glass that other makers make to appear as better than Gorilla Glass.

My OG Droid and Droid X have been dropped many, many times and have always worked perfectly. No cases or screen protectors ever. The screens still look flawless, but you can definitely see metal through the paint all around the chassis. The OG Droid looks like it has been to war, but works perfectly. I expect the Bionic to have this same build quality. Not freaking out every time my phone drops is awesome. I don't even pick it up right away most of the time, because I know it's fine.

On a side note, I had the Incredible for a little while and broke 2 of them from short falls right away. HTC's lack of build quality and the fact that the battery only lasts a couple hours, will keep me away from HTC for a very long time.

I'm starting to get a little nervous. My OG Droid too many drops, often on concrete pulling off the battery door and battery. Never had a scratch. My wife dropped our Galaxy Tab 10.1, which supposedly has gorilla glass, about 3 feet above our wood flooring and it destroyed the glass. I don't know if Moto has something different, but I'm pretty confident with this beast.

I dropped mine twice. Once was on my lap getting out if car, low Honda onto payment and once on my lap getting out of chair in house, tile floor.

NO WORRIES ...I have the shell case holster combo (with extended battery) and not a nick or scratch. I do have insurance and I am being more careful :)

Dropped mine last night while jogging. Bionic landed on pavement. Ding on the corner, battery cover wont stay closed. Insurance applied, thank goodness. Otterbox has been ordered. ;-)

Glass is funny stuff- it depends on the angle at which it hits - or something hits it, the thickness of the glass, temperature, etc.

I'll bet the Tab hit on it's corner (juuuuust right)
And because the screen is larger it's much more fragile than the Bionic. Although, I think the OGDroid was probably even safer, being smaller yet.

Gorilla glass is impact and scratch resistant, not -proof. No screen protector for me.

I shattered the Gorilla Glass today on my HTC Thunderbolt. No insurance. :(

Got a new Bionic now. (My toy money for a new Gen 4 Glock is gone though..)

I did get an OtterBox. Not sure how you stand it using it. I like my phones naked.

My dad bent over to pick something up, and his crap-tastic Costco Bionic case opened up, and his precious dropped 4 feet from his waist. No damage whatsoever!

you're imagination is spot on. This phone feels much better with the extended battery.
