E-Bikes

It was a great day here to be outside. I mowed my lawns and then went riding. I rode my 21 mile loop and then rode around in the North end of town. I rode the cart paths of the local country club. It's marked private and I shouldn't be on it. It's a darn shame for it is a very scenic concrete path wide enough for golf carts. In and round the trees and ponds and down one fairway and the next. It's really pretty this time of year. I logged 36 fun miles today.

I understand the liability they have for bikers and pedestrians on the cart paths of their private golf course.. There were no golfers on the course late afternoon however. I would ride it often if it were legal to ride. Others would use the paths as well. I can see that it could or would be a problem. I'll ride it again this fall when the leaves turn. It's not only a pretty ride, it has some cool bridges, and the path winds around making it fun to travel.

After my visit with the kidney specialist I came home and went for a ride. It was way too nice not to get on the bike... no matter my health. :) I met a couple of other riders out enjoying the day. I rode my 21 miles and put my bike back in the shed.

Now that's what I'm talking about, OB back in action, ;)

I got caught up with my mowing this afternoon. Getting a week behind is a killer. It was nice this afternoon with a slight wind from the North. I decided that I should get in a ride. I rode my 21 mile loop and loved it. My Bose were broke so I had the left track only which was a downer. Other than that, it sure felt great to be riding. I saw a number of cyclists when I was mowing but saw none when I was riding.

I did a bit of shopping this morning and then worked in a ride before my ultrasound appointment. I rode my normal 21 miles and it was a nice enough day that I wasn't the only person riding. As the weather improves, I hope to see more people out walking and riding.

I mowed my cabin property today. It was in bad shape so it took a while. A friend and his wife came down and he did a bit of weed eating wile I mowed. It was nice so we sat on the deck when the work was done and had a few refreshing brews. I came home, did my home chores, and went for a ride. I rode my same ol loop. It was a great afternoon to be out. I fixed dinner and ate. It was just beautiful ut so I went for another ride. I logged 43 miles today. Mid 80's and zero wind was just too nice to ignore. That and rain is in the forecast for the next few days.

I didn't get to ride yesterday but got the bike out this afternoon. It was cloudy with the wind gusting out of the North. It wasn't ideal riding weather but it was good enough. I didn't see anyone out riding but me. I rode my 21 miles and called it a day.

It was dry this morning so I started mowing early. I was done working mid afternoon and went riding. It was so nice I couldn't bring myself to stop riding. I was on the second half of my battery and rode the last mile home without any assist. I grabbed dinner and ate entirely too much. It was still beautiful out so I used the old battery, which was also on the bottom half of it's charge, and went riding again. The same exact deal occurred, I ran that battery dry as well. I logged 50 miles between the two rides of sheer enjoyment. I didn't see very many people out this afternoon but there were a lot of people out enjoying this evening. I met and passed a number of cyclists and a lot of people walking dogs and pushing baby carriages. It was the perfect evening to be out.

Instead of riding yesterday, I played a round of golf with my son. I made up for skipping a day by riding twice today. I rode after I got my lawns mowed and again after dinner. It was absolutely perfect riding weather this afternoon. Mid to upper seventies with zero wind. Zero wind in Kansas is rarity and demands enjoying it if it should ever happen. I did see a couple of riders out this evening. I was surprised that I didn't see more people out enjoying the day. I rode 42 miles today and loved it!

I went riding after I got my chores done this afternoon. I knew I was going to watch baseball tonight so I did all of my riding early. I started out by giving the bike a quick wash and oil job. It was time for both. It was a beautiful afternoon with the temps in the low eighties and very slight Southern breeze. I rode 51 miles before I put the bike up. I did see a couple of other serious riders out this afternoon. It was a great day to be riding.

I did my chores early and got in a quick ride before going down to the cabin and spending the afternoon visiting another couple. I went for another ride when I got back home. I logged 43 miles today. This morning I passed and met a few riders the first time around to the town South and back. The second time around I passed four or five riders and then caught up with a group of at least twenty middle to senior age ladies all riding as a group. I passed the stragglers then I caught up with the group. They were waiting for the stragglers to catch up before riding more. I eased around them and went on my merry way. It was really cool to see what had to be a riding club of sorts out riding and enjoying near perfect weather. I only saw a couple of riders on my late afternoon ride.

I rode early and then after dinner. It was very nice this morning and I was surprised I only saw a couple of people out. Early evening I saw nobody but it was lousy out. A weather front is moving in and the wind got up and was gusting into the 40 mph range from the South. Going North was no problem. :)
I managed to top 3K miles on my bike this morning. My first ride on the bike was July 20th 2023. I'd like to get another six hundred miles or so on the bike by my one year anniversary. That would be an average of ten miles every day. That would not be bad considering I wasn't allowed to ride it for almost three month following my heart attack.

I mowed six lawns and then went riding. It was a nice day with little wind and I had a freshly charged battery. I rode to the next town South four times and then rode some around town. I ended up logging 44 miles and decided I best get home and prepare dinner. It was still nice after dinner so I went for another ride. I did my normal 21 mile loop and hurried home to watch baseball. I did see a couple of serious riders today. I call them serious because they were dressed the part and were on nice bikes. That doesn't really prove they are serious but they have invested and were out riding.

You mean they dressed like douche bags and then acted like they own the road on 2 wheeled "bicycles" expecting drivers of cars to not run them over when they take over a lane of traffic. These people who are "serious" bicycle riders need to be humbled.

Actually, I meant they had invested in cycling clothing that is highly visible and breathable and they were riding quality bikes. We were riding on a sidewalk so I don't think we were effecting any traffic.

It warmed up nicely today but became quite windy from the North. I just rode my 21 mile loop and put the bike up. I was the only cyclist out there this afternoon. It was pretty crummy riding weather.

The clouds and cooler weather made way for a low eighties day with no wind and a full sky of blue. I mowed my lawns then went to the cabin and mowed down there. I got home in time to do my 21 mile loop. I saw two riders enjoying the day. It was perfect riding weather.

My day was messed up with a medical appointment uptown right at noon. I didn't have time to mow and clean up to make the appointment so I had to mow all of my Thursdays when I got home. I ran through them as fast as I could and came home and went for a ride. I need to ride to relax and I felt like a million dollars when I was done. I only rode 21 miles but I needed it. Dinner was a little late but we were just having sandwiches so it wasn't a biggie.

I got a late start but still managed to ride today. I was on the bottom half of my battery so I rode my 21 mile loop and came home. I then put the old battery which was also half drained on the bike and rode another 21 miles. It was a nice day but there was a breeze from the North. My ride is a lot easier when the wind is from the South. It was still a great day to be riding. I hope I can get in another good ride tomorrow.

I had a busy day but got in a good ride late this afternoon. The weather was decent with a slight wind from the South. I rode 46 miles before I put the bike up. I would have rode a bit longer but a storm was moving in and I didn't want to be caught in the rain.

I rode early this morning and then rode again once I got home from the cabin. It was perfect riding weather and it was difficult to stop riding. I was all but out of battery when I called it a day. I rode 49 miles today and loved it. There was a lot of people out today. The dogs were all getting walked and there were quite a few couples just walking and enjoying the day. I didn't see any serious riders but there were a lot of cyclists out. Mostly I saw kids having fun but I did see a few adults. It was a good day to be out doing something.

I would have rode more but I had a flat tire. :( I ran though one battery and was working on the second when I had the flat. I logged 66 miles today. It was one of those days that it was impossible to stay inside. I mowed my lawns, cleaned up and went riding. It was a great day in spite of the flat. Naturally it was the back tire that went flat. I've never had a flat on the front. I tried to air up the tire but it has a major leak. Pushing that bike with a 4" fat tire that's flat is near impossible. I was in town when the tire went flat. I was on my normal route heading for home. I pushed it four blocks when I came to a house that I pass daily. The house has a group of bikers that hang out in the garage and it looks to be full of motorcycles. They wave at me and I them as I pass. I decided I'd ask if I could leave the bike there and walk home to get my truck and bike rack. The guy ended up taking me home. When I got back to his place we talked bikes. I might be selling my spare bike to his dad that is 70 and loves to ride. One way or another, he invited me to drop in some time when the group is hanging out. They are all bike and motorcycle nuts... and so am I.
