I got home in time for a quick ride. The back tube lost nine pounds since last night and two pounds during the 24 miles I rode tonight. I ordered some slime.

I logged 74 miles with the two rides. I only lack 94 miles of meeting my new goal and have two days to ride them. The forecast has decent weather though a bit windy for the next two days.

Also check with Juice and see what they suggest, they might have a stronger robust tire for your bike, it's worth a chat or call too see,I had intended to ride early this morning but my back tire was flat. I picked up a roofing nail last night and fortunately made it home before it went flat. Being as the tire was slimed, there was no repairing the hole. I pulled the wheel and replaced the tube. It was almost ten by the time I was riding. I just rode 21 miles, I had hoped for more.
I went riding again this evening. Though it was right at 100° there was zero wind. I wasn't the only cyclist out riding. I couldn't help but notice this morning that I'm about due a new set of tires. The front tire is in better shape than the rear but both are showing high miles. Doing a quick google the average wear is 1k to 3k miles and I am at 6k. The tires have worn well for stock tires. Interestingly enough, like all tires, they are not created equal. I will likely go with a thicker motorcycle type tire vs tires like I have mounted. They should give me a bit more protection from punctures. Naturally they are more expensive but seemed reasonable to me. $130 or so will buy a set. I will do more research before I buy. The heavier tire sounds more difficult to mount and is a bit tricky to balance. They are also a bit larger in circumference so speedometer / odometer will have to be adjusted in the controller for accurate readings. If the tires aren't worth the hassle.. then I won't pay the extra price.

I will definitely check to see what they suggest or have available. I want to check the settings in my bike controller to see if it can be changed to account for a slightly different size tire. I did some R&D after posting last night and found some reviews complaining about the additional weight of the tires and the effect on the acceleration and battery consumption. I will know a lot more before I purchase. Also check with Juice and see what they suggest, they might have a stronger robust tire for your bike, it's worth a chat or call too see,![]()
He freaked out when I told him that I had just topped 6K on the bike and the back tire. Turns out he was a cyclist but gave it up years ago due to his age. We had a lengthy conversation about the e-bike and and my health and riding. I bet he becomes a cyclist again. The guy was only a month older than me and looked to be in pretty good shape. Plenty good enough to ride an e-bike.
I don't know how big time cyclists ride all day.
