Root Elelinux RC1

Uhm,I'm new in Elelinux and i find this rom very interesting for first half an hour(considering i was on stock HTC 2.1 :) ). One question for now: how do I make sync with outlook?

I see that i'm not the first with this problem, phone isn't recognized with HTC Sync at all...

OK,I got it trough google. Either a 3rd party app(usually only for ca$h) or to export VLC file to Google account associated with your phone.

Have today installed this as has given up on FroidVillain as the number of FC's, reboots and things generally not working was getting out of hand!!

Fingers crossed this is ok.

I'm currently running Elelinux Special Edition and Flykernel 10-a and my phone works fantastic! I don't know if i want to risk updating to Elelinux 2.0 and Flykernel 11.

I suppose i should, but i can't do nand restores because i keep getting an error saying i should use adb to restore. Hmmm i like updates, but now everything is running how i like it i'm a bit skeptical!

That error you are getting. You dont rename your backups do you? Like adding some description etc?

How is your battery level? If battery is full. And it wont go. Can you go to windows and scan the card if there is no any problems with it?(If it still wont go. Just try to erase the directory name , only the time) And try to restore again.

Full battery and the SDcard is fine. I'll try that trick and see how it goes.

I upgraded to Elelinux 2.0 and flykernel 11. It went smoothly, but it even thoguht i installed the overclocked optimized kernel it still booted up at 614/352. So i have to manually overclock to 672/176 in setcpu otherwise it's been a pleasant experience.

Uhm,regarding flykernel,I install it separately from ROM? Also from AmonRA?

Regards

Put the kernel on the root of your sdcard, go to amon ra, do a nandroid backup (or nand+ ext if you need it), then wipe the dalvik-cache and the cache.

Then flash it the same way you did the ROM and reboot.

That might have been what i did wrong. I flashed the Rom and then the kernel right after each other. Maybe i should flash the Rom reboot and get it going. Then reboot and flash the kernel :)

2Xyro> said and done :)

Now,how much more of OC setting is acceptable for Hero & Ele? I used 614/176 kernel. A device is a tad faster imho. A number 176 declares lowest freq that device works on while being in standby right?

Actually I usually flash the rom, kernel and theme all at once. It should work either way.

Most heros reach 710 just fine, 720ish and 740 ish are possibilities but don't get your hopes up. (even if it boots at one of those higher frequencies, it might crash a lot).

And yes, set your OC program to 176 -max with the smartass governor and it will stay between 176 and 350 when sleeping.

Ditto here with the 691/176 CM6-optimised kernel. It may be due to only updating rather than a full wipe/flash as with a complete ROM, but I'm in no mood to try. ;)

I went back into recovey and did the following:

1. Wipe/Factory Reset
2. Wipe Cache
3. Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. Flashed Rom
5. Reboot
6 Turn off and then on into recovery
7. Flash 672/176 OC optimized kernel 11
8. Reboot

No change. It just wont work. I now wonder if the smartass sleep profile kicks in?

I can't speak for the optimised OC kernel as I flashed back to the stock -11, but with the latter it's definitely spent the majority of the time today at 176MHz.

How do you check the average frequency the cpu has been running at?

I also installed Floyo 1.01 just to try something different and the O/C kernel works perfectly. Seeing as it's created by the same person it's not that strange :P.

I think i will go back to Elelinux seeing as i'm confortable with that rom, but both Elelinux and Floyo seems pretty much the same with no real differences...

Mine too. It's been at both 350 and 176 longer than it's been at 710.

SetCPU (which you can get for free at XDA) can tell you the time spent at each frequency.

got this prob with ele rom.. everytime i reboot some of my widgets wont load.. "problem loading widget".. like my ATK, Extended Controls, Mixzing, etc

LauncherPro can't load the app/widget that are installed on SD fast enough after reboots. Just move those problematic app/widget to internal, you will be fine.

I have done a clean install and it looks like this one is a keeper. The Flykernel 11 O/C Optimized kernels work as they should now and everything seems to run extremely smooth. The camera works and i think he has fixed the gallery so all is good :).

Just a quick hijack. Paid apps have now been released in Norway and i was wondering when i purchase an app from the market how do i back it up? So when i change roms i don't have to repurchase my apps?

The apps are purchased to your gmail account. So no backup for repurchase is needed. If you install a clean rom and put in your gmail (the one with the purchased apps) . In your market they will show as purchased.
