Yes, that happened to me yesterday too when I went on a conference call. There was no keypad on the screen to enter the conf# so I just opened the slider and it worked.
 
i am starting to have this freezing issue sporadically as well. and as weird as it sounds. it appears to only be in the center of the screen. if i have the phone in portrait mode and the screen freezes i can usually still slide on the left and right but not in the center. Once i slide on the left or right (or flip to landscape) it works. very annoying when you are trying to use swype and it wont work in the middle of the keyboard from time to time. Has anyone swapped this out? and if so did the new epic work better? or is this really a software bug?

Yup and even battery widgets show this odd behavior. I've seen a drop of 35%(!) on one reboot.

I called my bank's automated line yesterday, and I always put it on speaker for this. I had no problem at all entering account number, pin number, menu selection, etc.

I have a conference call once a month so I'm glad to know my phone doesn't have this issue. *knock on wood*
 
My screen sometimes will flash back to the homescreen/lockscreen for less than a second (hardly noticable) when in the browser or apps.

Doesn't happen with any regularity though, just kind of comes and goes as it pleases.
 
Something just started today. When in Messaging, and in a thread, when I hit the back button that should take me back to the main list of threads, it takes me all the way back to the home screen.
 
So far, as I've mentioned in other threads:

1) I can't send text messages, though I can receive them.
2) My 3G speeds are beyond bad (11 kbps up constantly, and sometimes similar speeds for download)

I realize that these are more likely Sprint issues than Epic issues, but I think it's possible at least the second one is a problem with the 3G radio.

For those of you experiencing a lock-up while in camera mode, I thought it happened to me the other day as well, turns out its not a bug its user error. If you try to turn off the screen while in camera/video mode by hitting the screen lock button you are locking the camera mode, which mean you are making it so that the phone does not accept any inputs aside from unlocking by hitting the power/ screen unlock button again. This "lock mode" is indicated by lock icon appearing in the top corner of the screen. The reason for this mode is actually good, if you are filming something important you don't a finger slip hitting the back/home buttons and ruining your video, so you can lock it and not worry about it. Of course this means if you don't know about the feature and you activate it, instant freak out. But, now you know ;-)

The task manager has issues when closing tasks. I would click the end button and it will randomly jump and close a different one. When I exchanged my phone for a different one the problem still exist. Not a big problem, but its annoying when it ends a task that I needed to stay on. =\
 
Issue with the physical keyboard not registering some letters. I'm not sure its because I type to fast or I have a defective keyboard but it happens every two or three words or so. I know this is a known issue with some Epics but is it all of them? Or shall I swap it out for another?

What I would do, is test this to see if it is consistent and not just because you type too fast. Type out the alphabet A-Z, multiple times, and see if there are letters missing, and if it always the same letters missing.

If it is a problem with your Epic, I would exchange it, or at the very least see if there is anything that can be done to remedy the situtation.

If you don't mind post back with your results.

I was able to type out the alphabet perfectly. So there is no issue with a certain key. But when I actually typed out a common sentence "Tomorrow I am going to the store" over and over again, there were definite holes. I was able to type that sentence much faster than trying to type out the alphabet. My theory is that the keyboard cannot think as fast as I can type haha...but this is very annoying at the least!
 
Sprint is tracking five major bugs and three minor bugs according to Sprats corporate "advanced Device" support. Known major issues include extremely poor up and down data speeds on 3g and poor up speeds on4g, and the serious problem switch Epics GPS.

Right now on average in the 3G the Epics data speeds are the lowest of any smartphone
 
I have been having problems with the capactive back button. It is really hard to get it to work. I have to push it multiple times to get it to work. I have found if I use the pad of my thumb as opposed to the tip of my thumb and push hard it works with in one or two pushes. The other three buttons work just fine, with only the slightest touch making them work.

Has any one else had this issue?

Do you have a link to that by chance???


Another bug I just found, can someone confirm? When I open the Email app (NOT the Gmail app) and go to compose a message I hit the attach button and ALWAYS get a F.C. Tried rebooting, deleting/reinstalling the account, etc without any change.

this is a pain in my ****in ass sumtimes .................... keyboard issues also needs to get addressed as this is epic #2 whith issue .. ive been using swype more so as this going back adding letters in is a bitch .. i would have kept the evo 2 months ago n never dealt with the pos fkn moment.

and i love the fact the camera isue isnt an issue lol

You have to be very deliberate with each keystroke. My theory is that the physical keyboard doesn't read anything less than a full keystroke. It really sucks but at least there's swype!
