Eris to v2.x, when?

I don't know what everyone is talking about with the prices... I ordered two, having to pay shipping for one of them ($10). You can change the plan by clicking "View more plans," and deselect roadside assistance, change the messaging plan, and choose "personal data" rather than "enterprise" before you complete the order. That will lower the monthly cost quite a bit. A family shared 700 minute plan is $70 a month, data/web is $30 each, and 250 text messages is $5 a month (even though it might be pointless if you can use a Voice app... I might cancel that part of the plan).

Any way, it seems pretty typical of a smartphone plan price.

I tried out the Eris briefly at the Verizon store, I hope it's as cool as I think it is. I've read a lot about how horrible the still camera and video is... also watching video supposedly sucks. Maybe the person who wrote that is just being too picky and his standards are too high because he compares everything in the universe to the iPhone?

If you can't answer this, then that's fine. I wanted to ask about album art. I have added album art to my music through windows media player. Currently 1.5 does not display my album art, I think because the art has to be embedded with the music file and not just an image. Will 2.1 remedy this problem? Thank you.

I doubt that 2.1 will really solve this issue, but you never know. I ran into the same problem and found an app to solve it. There are a few out there, but i went with Album Art Grabber. Take a look.

Sweet video....BTW I'm new. I've been reading for this thread for....well lets just say I'm way up to par on what's going on. I was finally cooling off but I think the video has got me excited again. Ooo please hurry up 2.1

I understand how you feel, I was starting to forget about it but the last few days got me pretty excited. I am just glad the job I have allows me to have the freedom to do what I like generally. I love people able to visit this site at work, just like I am right now.

I just hooked my old Moto H605 up and no voice dialing. It does respond to the redial hold but that's about it...

It works fine with Ford's Sync system though.

I tried both methods, embedded and image file. Neither display in the stock player. I did read somewhere that doubletiwst may be able to sync album art in a manner that will display in the stock player...
 
I'm thinking of sending a petition to VZW asking them to upgrade Eris slooowly, over a period of time. First 1.6, then 2.0 (with maybe the apocryphal 1.666 somewhere in between. Then on April 1 sending out the 2.1 OTA. That way we'd have a chance to get adjusted to the change. Anyone else want to sign up?

Ofthedamned... is there a YouTube link for that video? I can't play it on my eris.. or do I just have to wait for the update to see it? :)

Not on YouTube, sorry. Too easy to have HTC or Verizon yank it down on there. You can watch it on any desktop though.
