Eris to v2.x, when?

Sorry if this has been addressed already... trying to catch up. I believe Google updated the Google Maps application with pinch to zoom natively. HTC probably just has an earlier version baked into the ROM.

This is dead on. I design test hardware and software and for us, there are multiple levels of integration, testing, problem reporting, integration, etc. You will never squash all bugs no matter how much time and money you invest in testing. Usually testing is an afterthought in most companies, and that is why software usually has so many bugs. I would assume the build that VZW is testing now will be pretty stable. Anything short of a catostrophic bug would not be worth sending the build back to HTC.

I did not realize that. I'm guessing that was pretty recent?
 
I just try not to think about the update to much, helps me from getting excited about it and then disappointed when it doesn't come out for a while. It will be nice once we finally have it though.
 
Having just one user posting in here about receiving the 2.1 update is suspect to say the least. If it's true the update is garbage, as reported by this one user.

If it is a hoax, well.. we've all been had real good, haven't we. I guess we're ripe to be had, given our ongoing anticipation around 2.1 (and root).
 
Just got off the phone with 3 different Verizon stores, all said the same thing.

"Updates for the HTC Android device have not been finalized, but don't take our word for it. We usually know after the Internet Forums do"

I'm thinking something is up
 
I'm thinking this is just another tester snapping a pic of their phone and saying it came OTA. Just yesterday that video was posted from a tester running 2.1. It's fun update banter anyway.
