Eris to v2.x, when?

On Eris running Flash 10.1 (Sorry if it has already been discussed) If the Hero is basically an Eris then this from Gizmodo is not too exciting:
"Answering a question about a specific phone, Antonio Flores, a man posting on Adobe's support forums who everyone—including a community manager there—seems roundly convinced is a legitimate Adobe employee, says:

No, the HTC Hero will not be supported b/c it does not have the correct Android OS version and its chipset is not powerful enough. We require a device with an ARM v7 (Cortex) processor. Examples include the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets and TI OMAP3 series."

I read the hubbub the last few days on this quote which seems to have originated a couple of weeks ago. Way to unspecific and isolated a response to consider definitive. ARM v7 only or similar in power? What's the big differece between the Droid's V7 and Eris' Qualcomm? Android OS comment? It seems misinformed as the Eris will have 2.1 shortly.

This is the most accurate statement in this whole thread. :D

I've made that mistake and I had a guy show up on my doorstep. Not fun, not doing it again.

That's when you tell them I would like to introduce you to Brutus-my Pit-bull, or Smith and Wesson my 45; or better, my personal friend in my closet-just for hunting varmints- I would like to introduce you to A.K. Fourtyseven and his/her 30 children clip----incert; pull, flip the safety and when you're done, they're gone; no more problem on your doorstep..Ahhhhhhhh That's the sign of satisfaction+++Just to stay on topic-I heard 2.1 comes with a Walther PPK attachment...and an app for that! If only! lol That would definitely make the Eris the $hit all the way around. Who knows, I bet soon enough they will be making phones with built-in personal safety equipment, i.e. pepper spray, a knife, nauseating light, or small caliber projectile like a dart. Get back man, or my phone will kick your @ss! lol

Hello all-
I'm new here and yes I tried to search this....
In the HTC deveolpment center page there is kernel source code and binaries for the Eris that were released on 02/01/2010. What are these? anything to do with 2.1? On the android developers page at HTC it also states that "Android 2.1 is now available".??? WTF?

You may have searching, but didn't know what you were searching for. I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned a few times. Anyways, that is the source code for the Eris. Theoretically, if you have that, you can then build and then compile that information (if you REALLY know what you're doing) and then, if your Eris is rooted, you can put it on your Eris instead of waiting for the OTA. Thing is, the Eris isn't rooted yet, so even if someone turned that into a working 2.1 for the Eris, we couldn't have it. So yeah, it's basically sitting there taunting us as it's only useful for developers.

/End Threadjack, back onto sillyness and non-2.1 stuff...

...never, I don't think anyone has ever seen that.../end sarcasm

Please read through the threads before posting the SAME thing that has been posted at least 3 or 4 times.

I don't know about you, but I (and others I'm sure) have other things to do besides reading through all 37 pages of this thread to figure out if someone has already said something once or twice.

...I just love when complete a$$h*/es decide to get smart.../:mad:"end sarcasm"
