Eris to v2.x, when?

Why do phones cost SO much without a new 2 year contract, its not like im leaving the carrier. I am just buying another phone WITHIN the carrier.

You have to realize how much computing power is in the palm of your hand. More computing power than was in the original space shuttle that went to the moon. Thats why these things go for $500. PPL need to relax with "whens 2.1 coming, I feel cheated" threads. It will come when it comes, nothing we can do about it.. If someone actually knew when it really was coming, it would be all over these forums. You wouldn't even have to ask about it.

Not to point out the obvious, but the space shuttle never went to the moon.

To check for updates, go to Market, and then your list of apps. Dunno if it works for 1.5, but 2.1 says if you have an update or not.

On 1.5 only what you have downloaded is listed and shows updates not the stock apps.

2 recent predictions; A wonderful Christain man: Harold Camping says May 21, 2011 is the rapture; it mathmatically works out to the exact date Moses closed the Arch during Noah's at like 7000th year or something significant; I'm not gonna say it aint gonna happen; I may not live till tomorrow, so I try to be ready before then; Mayans say 12/21/12 I think; too bad, I was going to get my wife a 1,000,000,000 dollar Christmas gift, guess I can't now.
 
I have installed the leaked 2.1 on my eris , the navigation works good, there is a 2.1 gallery for photos that is pretty cool that seems to work well. Anybody have this leaked version on their eris?
 
For those complaining about 2 year contracts, check out VZ's 1 year terms next time around.

My wife & I were looking to come back to the VZ network, and wanting to get nice discounts on smart phones. We could have paid $80 each per Eris on 2 year agreements, but instead chose to pay $130 per Eris, in exchange for 1 year agreements. So that $50 "extra" I paid now, will definitely reward me when 60 days before my contract end date (10 months from my start date), I can re-sign to another 1 year term, and get same discount phone pricing as a new customer, like I just did. 10 months later, rinse & repeat. Then 10 months later... you get the idea.

I confirmed this through 4 or 5 calls to various VZ CS reps, who confirmed many detailed questions from me about this exact scenario, because I knew I wouldn't want my Eris for more than about 1 year. Phones are improving so fast right now.
 
Peejack....I installed it to, I'm having issues with my contact card, navigator, and my home/menu bar at the bottom. I wanna switch back, but if theyre updating ig ill just deal
