I wonder how many people will have that song in their heads as a result of my little comment...

I'm thinking of throwing darts at one of those all-year calendars. I'm betting that the date the dart lands on is as accurate as any of the dates or circumstances that have been reported by Verizon customer support reps that have been posted here.

Slighty off topic, but I figured I'd throw in a break from all the update convo, does anyone [on 1.5 or 2.1] have any Ghost Tapping issues? As in, sometimes when i'm looking at my phone, or sometimes even typing out a message I noticed that my cursor will move to the left, or if im on the main screen my screens will slide to the very left one all by itself. And when its plugged in [charging] FORGET about doing anything with it while moving it around even the slightest cuz it goes crazy [and sometimes I hear it making the clicking noise like its trying to select something]. Like i said, ghost tapping, cuz i'm sure as hell not touching it....[something going on with my touch screen sensor maybe?]
Along similar lines, I'm thinking of throwing darts at every Verizon rep I see wandering from their stores to the streets at lunch time.
Try cleaning the trackball with an alcohol pad (ya know, those lil had wipes from fast food). Works when I have a sticky trackball, and I've heard of this happening on others. Hope it works for ya!
(Yes, It was very hard to answer this without a "Clean your ball" joke... I should get a cookie or something!)
@Qwiktune
Have you tried to re-calibrate your touchscreen then? Settings>Language & Settings > Touch Input > text input> calibration tool
that could account for the "ghost" typing... Only think I can think of for the weird screen scroll would be a trackball though.
I'd say try em both... couldn't hurt!

Yeaa the protector could have got a lil dust or sumthing in there and is detecting that as pressure maybe? Take that off and do the other things... Hopefully that'll work!!!
. Personally I hate those protector things. Tried one with my iPod a while back and it honestly caused more damage to the screen than it protected.
Give it a try w/o the screen protector.. IMO it would def help.
...unless you carry a machette or something in your pocket, the Eris has a really really strong screen, pretty sure it'll only break if you spike it NFL touchdown style face down on a sharp rock!
YouTube - Droid Eris Scratch/Drop Test
Proof in the vid. Dropped my Eris like 8 times before I got a case, yet no screen damage
anyways! /End rant!

Yeah, in this day and age where Twitter lets you know every single thing a celeb is doing, and seeing how companies also have official Twitters, it does kinda suck they aren't being used appropriately.
We don't need to know everything, but how would it hurt business for them to mention what bugs were found and fixed along the way.
Oh well, what can you do? Never thought I'd say this since I always disagreed with those that said "it's just a phone," but now the reality is starting to hit. Too bad it's four months too late.

I completely disagree. I've been managing software development, releases, tech upgrades, product rollouts, etc. for going on 30 years (yes, I'm "seasoned"). It's not practical or even professional to start responding to this chatter. Large projects are very fluid. Sometimes the timeline looks great, the next day a bunch of unexpected stuff pops up. You can't subject your customers to that rolercoaster.
Verizon indicated they would upgrade the Eris in Q1, w/o comitting to a version. Maybe the PR person misspoke or the timeline was never that definitive. Maybe they planned on a 2.0 upgrade at that time but were pressured by Google to deal with the fragmentation issue. Maybe it was related to the Droid rollout. Maybe they feel a quality rollout has precedence over an arbitrary timeline. Who knows? But "absolute arrogance", "total disrespect" and "never seen such poor customer communication"? Come on. The easier alternative was to support what people bought - an Eris on 1.5.
