18 years old over here. Do I even belong here?
Love the. Eris, even if it means having common interests with people old enough to be my daddy. Hehe.

25

I wish I was smart enough to buy a smart phone when I was in grad school. No more do I have to stop what I am doing and run to a computer to check email or use the internet!

I'm the only one in my school system(elem. Middle school, high school) With an android device. Rest have blackberries/LG phones. EVen though our local wireless provider(bluegrass cellular) has Hero.

52 in July. I don't have my Eris yet. A couple days. Doesn't anyone here remember Teletypes and paper tape? Punch cards? Kaypro?

21 here. My parents refused to buy me a cell phone, those old fashioned meanies! So I marched in to Verizon one day not long after my 18th birthday and set up my own account and got an LG flip phone free! Woo hoo!

Since then I've had both of the red Chocolate's and now I have graduated to my first smartphone. Wow, that puts me at a new phone about once a year... guess I'm going to have to slow down a bit now. But hey, that won't be too hard, I love this phone. In fact my husband loves to sing "Why you so obsessed your phone, whoa whoa whoa..." (Mariah Carey :o).

I used to prctice programing (in BASIC) on a KayPro. Then, joined the Army, and guess what all the Lt's were lugging around... I became "The computer guy".

wow this thread has gotten long. My kids are 19, second year of college, and 17 junior in h.s. They have had the plain jane phones for probably the last 5 or 6 years now. They can get a smart phone themselves when they can afford the $30 extra bucks a month. I have to admit though, they are a great way to keep up with them esp. the one in college, they even got me on facebook which I have been resisiting. And I love twitter. As to what kind of job allows me to check out this forum all day....desk jockey. What else is there to do. No different from the woman in the next office on ebay all day or the other one who adds to her blog all day ;) right?

I'm 56.
I had one of the very first pagers. It was the size of a TV remote. Then I got a phone with a cord from the hand piece to a case that hung from my shoulder with a battery in it that weighed about 6 pounds and an antenna that was about 6 feet long. .

haha. Yeah I remember when my dad first came home from his job as an engineer with a calculator, one of the first and expensive, we weren't allowed to touch it. He also had one of the first Apple home systems, the Lisa, one for work, one for home. Good times.

Yeah. Remember when a floppy disc really was floppy?

I guess I am pretty old. This is my first cell phone. I like the Eris better.
