Root Error code 128 Unknown Error Sign on failed

I am rooted with Shabbymod .9. Also did a rooted odin restore about a week ago and really haven't had any problems until now. I've been getting this error consistently for two days now. It only happens when I

A. power the phone on

OR

B. Put phone in airplane mode then turn off airplane mode

These are the only instances that I get this pop up

I think it has to do with data because it is taking longer to connect to 3g ( like 7 to 10 sec ) and data some times doesn't respond. Like when i try to google. The browser takes about the same time to initiate the search.

Anyone else ever had an issue like this? Or possibly any solutions for a fix?

Thanks

Are you using the OTA EE14 or the Safe Modem Update from here in the Forum ? Also , when you Odined , did you wait 30 min. or so before rooting again and give the phone a chance to update profile , PRL and such ? If not ya might wanna try it . I know it's a b*tch but it may help . I've Odined mine several times in order to get the performance I was looking for . I had Boost do a forced activation after restoring back to ED13 , waited til it received the OTA EE14 update and then pulled the battery and let it sit for about 30 minutes . Booted and did the 1-click root ,Shabbymedia, Shabbymod.09 with modified boot animation , Shabbykernel , removed Boost amination + sound and did the faster 3g fix . I have doubled my signal strength and getting better battery life . Compared to a couple of days ago , it's like I've got a totally different phone . Don't know if it will work for you but I figured I'd share with ya what I did to get the optimal performance from mine . Hope it helps ya blue and thx again for the bootani . ! :D

Got my Prevail 3 months ago. Just started getting the error code 128 in the last couple days and same 3G problem Blue described. Haven't rooted, sounds cool though. Don't think it has anything to do with Rooting.(?)

Tried the following:
Updating profile-didn't help
Rebooting-No luck
Turning airplane mode on/off-Zilch
Tried updating PRL (don't know what it is but i tried it), told me my PRL was upgraded but didn't help the problem
Can take a few minutes when I start and app needing 3G but it will eventually connect. Settings>About Phone>Status says my mobile network is connected.

It definitely is a 3G problem. Wifi connect-everything works fine. Calls aren't affected.

Wife has a Boost B-Berry, no 3G issues currently. Hope someone finds a solution!

It almost seems like a timing issue. My phone occasionally does this, but within a matter of seconds of this message displaying - my phone connects to 3g just fine. If your phone still connects after the message displays, id ignore it.

I think it's a network issue. I think the entire error code said: "Error Code 128: Failed to sign in, if problem persists try turning your phone off then on again." The delay occurred every time any app attempted to download data.

Turned it off, took out battery for 30 seconds, restarted and it seemed OK. Today it was working fine again. Probably just a periodic problem. Thanks though masked.

I have had the same error code for about a month now. Before I did the root was having this issue. Now it has gotten so bad that I can't receive any picture mails. I can send them but wont receive any, also my internet on 3g is so very slow compared to what it was when I first got the phone. Boost tells me that it is due to an error in the way that the phone signs in to boost mobile themselves to receive the pics and data.....

So now my question. Boost mobile wants me to do a factory reset with a new forced ota activation. Do I have to un root it to do that then re root? If so does anyone have a link to un rooting? Or are their any other suggestions? Thanks in advance

Try ODIN Recovery ED13. Make sure you download the unrooted version. This will allow the OTA update from Boostmobile.

After that is done you can reroot.

Also you might want to take a look at The NOBLE Doctrine especially post #5.

Enjoy.

I did a factory reset on mine and still get the error. I din't know what it is, but my phone is rooted, my phone works great, and that's the only thing that won't work right.

I hope someone can help with this.

I have not seen it, I dont know unless your boost connect info is not quite correct. what is your user info, on the about phone, status, it should be unique to you.
I also wonder if the password info is correct however I dont know what that would be or where to find it.

I'm having the same issue on my Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy Prevail.

I thought it was related to an app but I removed the app and it still happened.
It is happening less but I did noticed it started happening after they had the tiny earthquakes in and near SF. I live about 2 hrs away.

Tried a reset nothing helped.

I am not rooted.

Hey ya blue ! Hope ya been doing well man :D . I just started getting this error today after wiping it back to Odin EE14 w/ root . Doesn't seem to be affecting anything though . Hopefully it'll stay that way ! :p

Ok so this error also started happening with my son's Samsung Seek which is also on Boost Mobile like my Samsung Galaxy Prevail.

I called Boost and they said it is an internal error. If factory reset does work they said there is nothing to fix it. My phone is still under warranty so it getting replaced for free but my Son's phone is not but we are looking to replace it with an Android anyways.

Edit: Called Samsung, surprise they want my phone to "fix it". Boost was of no real help. Son is still having the same issue with his Seek too. Again neither of us have rooted phones.

Sent the phone in to Samsung and this is what they said.
Problem found:
WON'T DOWNLOAD SW/PRL

Solution:
PASSED RF TEST - PASSED ALL FUNCTIONAL TESTING

No clue what they did to fix it. Phone should be here Thursday.
