Root Error in CWM...

Well I just installed ROM Manager and CWM, I then Partitioned my SD Card in CWM, then I Went and -Wipe data/factory reset and I got this error "E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p4"

The thing I was trying to format was under mounts and storage, trying to format /sd-ext and when I hit yes format it, I get the same error "E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p4", error formatting /sd-ext!

AHHHHHHHH!

Ignore it. Not important...

Okay man will do! A few questions if you don't mind?

#1 What does the option "Allow Mock Locations mean" in Development?

#2 How do I change the shutdown Animation and change the LG Logo/Metro PCS logo (when it starts up and/or shuts down)? I know how to change the boot animation, that is easy.....

That is all I can think of for now, Mr. LG know it all!!! LOL J/K!!!! Hehehe :D:D:D

Sammyz has SKILLS!!!!!!

sd-ext doesnt exist by default, its a partition usually added to the sdcard for devices with lil to no internal storage to be able to run apps from the sdcard. No real need for it on the connect at all.

So basically you cannot format what doesnt exist. ;)

the metropcs one is just a bootani, the shutdown ani is the same as the bootani, just locate it and remove or replace it. ;)

the lg bootsplash is in the boot.img, in res/bootimages iircc... in part that is, I believe there is a static lg img thats part of the bl itself, the animated lg logo is in the boot.img tho.

Guys, when I am in CWM and I am doing the Wiping data/factory reset option I get this error "E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p4"

Anyone know what this means? I am running the vv3 baseband.

Thanks...
is that exactly what it says?? im pretty sure there shouldn't be a "p" in the mmcblk reference lol.. are you using a non stable version of cwm? sounds like it's having trouble finding your data partition....

plus correct me if im wrong.. but I don't think the connect is ext4?? or is it?? lol or is that just the method for formatting a partition?? I know it's used on the s3 because our system is ext4.. or something like that LOL sorry dude this all I know :D

Hum, my sd is formatted as FAtT32... But it's working fine now all except for the cwm error which I was told that it's nothing important and my apk files that I download from the play store are being renamed with a -1 at the end of the file name. See attached pic....

Oh yea and my system folders have creation dates from the 1970's....
