I wonder what performance improvements could have been made to the 4G/Wimax radio. Also, I wonder how the phone deals with overheating. Last week I had my phone charging & doing the full HDMI mirroring (using CM7) for ~30 minutes, & the phone was hotter than I've ever felt it. When I looked up the battery info, the status said "Overheated" & the temp was at 122 degrees!!

Im not saying whether I believe Bluescreen or not....just wondering why everyone was in an uproar yesterday because Sprint didnt mention "if" the 3D is Wimax/LTE possible.

I dont see how it would be smart business(At this time when Sprint is only Wimax) regardless of rumors, to mention that your next flagship phone is LTE capable.

There is no logic for them to mention, let alone they talked about the phone for 30 minutes or so. Why would Dan want to mention that the 3D(In a launch promo) is LTE capable? That means that they would be 100% going LTE and you'd be ruining your partnership with Clear, who Sprint is heavily invested in.

Now with that said, I'm hoping LTE is possible on the 3D, cause if that is Sprint's next step you would be wanting to prepare for it, and have a phone already capable of it for launch/reconfiguration to LTE.

It's ok if you "personally" don't get it. Some of us do. What's the big deal? I have actually had comments on the screen off animation, which is minor.. but again, attention to detail is nice.

I "personally" don't want most of the gingerbread "look" to be killed by sense. Android did a really good job revamping the UI. It's ok if it doesn't matter to you tho.. there is no right or wrong here.

I will say I agree with you on the EVO screen. I was not disappointed with it and always thought it looked great... until I put it side by side with my buddys iphone =x I'm still not disappointed, I accept that it will not be the best in every category.

I think it is an upgrade over our current screen, and that's enough for me. I just hope it doesn't have harsh viewing angles and other negatives that aren't seen right away.

I also want to see this concept back cover that has a kickstand that the article was mentioning. I love accessories and have always been jealous of how much attention the iphone gets in that department.

Very true regarding the definition from wikipedia...just posted it to have some sort of definition from a source, but just like you, I looked at it and thought...um, still makes absolutely NO sense to me, so can't wait until some tech blog can give a "screen resolution for dummies" explanation on the differences between this and other high quality screens.

In the link that dan330 had posted from Androidpolice talked about a comparison w/ the Sharp Galapagos phone (revealed at CES), which is also 3D, and said that the EVO 3D seems to have a different technology and is more viewable from many angles in 3D.

That seems to be a very good sign of how good the screen is, especially with regard to 3D viewing.

Wow, thats 10 minutes i cant get back, i thought we were going to discuss what we did and did not want on the EVO 3D with the HOPE someone would be able to influence that if they were reading....I just wanted to discuss my beef with the EVO 3D...seems it has been brought up, kickstand, charge port, I WANTED A FRONT SPEAKER!, didnt need another camera lol, or 3d for that matter, basically just wanted a faster evo with a better display. Looks like the 3D will supply that much with a bunch of extra stuff I wont use and missing some stuff I used frequently ala kickstand. THough it looks like i may get some sort of kickstand anyhow, WHEN i get this phone, likely not launch day though.

Just thought I would add that I did read BSOD's "first thread ever", which was actually linked in another thread. Admittedly, it seems fishy that his first thread was thanking the forums for getting him to switch from a samsung (epic?) to the EVO and how much of a better phone it was. All that said, I agree many of the threads he has posted in have become much more of a debate on whether this guy is legit or not and have strayed vastly off topic (and yes, I find myself doing the same). At the end of the day, those arguing he is a troll are probably giving him what he wants; more discussion over his character than the actual phone itself!

More on topic, the iPhone 4 retina display resolution is 960x 640 whereas this qHD in the EVO 3d is 960x 540. Technically iPhone wins the pixel density war. I wonder how noticable it will be. Personally, I can barely see the pixels on my current evo display without really looking for them.

I personally dig the crt screen animations, I certainly wouldnt mind them and think its a good idea to include them. Eye candy sells phones. I had people wanting an evo because it had the kickstand, people are easily influenced. Besides id rather have my phone do something when i turn the screen of than to have it just turn off...

hmm I have flashed a lot of sense roms and i dont recall a semi transparent rosie, i have had one that had the middle button transparent and ones that were entirely clear (I think, please dont question my credentials and accuse me of trolling ) but cant recall a totally semi-transparent one

I noticed that too! I still haven't rooted my EVO (even after all this time), so I've been hoping to see some pics of the different themes that the new Sense UI offers. One of my biggest hopes was to have a completely transparent dock/toolbar (just like LPP and Go Launcher have), as well as the ability to hide the top task bar (and pull it up when needed, either by pressing the menu button or swype action).

He was a cell phone newbie, and readily admitted it. And this was not even a year ago- it was last April when he was trying to get info the Evo.

Everyone keeps saying the truth will come out. Uh, hello? The truth already came out. Not a single one of his claims were true. The only ones that were true were the ones that were leaked before he posted them.

He started making claims by saying that he needed to get all of his posts approved by his boss first. Are you telling me that his boss approved him posting a bunch of false claims?

He also said he was not only going to be on stage at the announcement, but he would give this forum a shout out. Did anyone give this forum a shout out? And you actually expect me to believe that he was one of the guys on stage making the announcement, but he had no clue about the device the night before the announcement?

Well, in that case, I am an insider too. I will go on record saying Evo 3D will release this summer for around $200 on contract. Hold on a second, I have to get approval from my boss before I release these next tidbits... Okay got approval. Qik will cost extra for video chat, and the device will be released in early June. Oh, and Blue Screen is full of crap. There were no hardware changes made the day of the announcement, the night before, or even the week of.

Sprint's current WiMax service is pitiful and they've shown no interest in expanding it or figuring out how to get better coverage in areas they already state they have coverage. Sprint has also stated that they are testing LTE so from the looks of it, Sprint will be going to LTE.

Basically it comes down to this... I want a new phone. I don't want to get a WiMax phone to find, b4 the years end, Sprint will go to LTE and start shipping LTE phone by 2012. Also, if I knew Sprint was going LTE and the EVO 3D have LTE capabilities, I'd have some reason to stay on Sprint. As it stands right now, Verizon is stating they will have 145 markets covered, with LTE, by end of year and we've seen their LTE implementation works... I'm hearing seamless hand offs from 3G to 4G and from tower to tower. Sprint's current Wimax has an issue with hand offs and so far, it seems only to be if one is stationary and standing outside....

Now that's why I want an LTE capable phone. I don't want to get stuck with the HD-DVD of 4G technologies, since I already got burned with HD-DVD.

I'm not concerned with 4G myself, but I can understand why people are. In my opinion, nothing to back it, just opinion ... I would think it would take a bit longer than 8 month or so to implement LTE on Sprint.

Even if they do get it implemented.. they still have to expand and by the time it actually reaches me.. I think it will be upgrade time for me anyway.

But, I'm not at all down playing your concerns. I do understand them.

We all want to get to the bottom of it, and find out what we're really going to have when release day is here. He made some statements, you called him out. The problem is the way you went about it.
When I post, i try to be as civil and level headed as I would be in face to face adult conversation. We appreciate you enthusiasm, but there's no need to get personal or be demeaning or condescending.
I can't stand keyboard warriors. I can personally guarantee you, BlackDynamite, that you would use a more civil tone if you were discussing this face to face with me or others on this board.
I thought that this thread was going to be free of all this negative garbage - are there no mods on this board?
