This does not prove he is a liar or a fake. It just may prove that he was given bad information. That is all. We all know too well Sprint is good for giving us bad information at times.

well true in that case i apologize. but im pretty sure dave said it wasnt available unless is another dave s. :p then thats a coincidence...

but im mad because i got excited :p

Let's use some common sense here. If Sprint customer service reps are authorized to tell us the price, then the price would already be made public. If the reps are not authorized to tell us the price and they do, they can be fired, sued, or be incriminated in insider-trading investigations, so there's really no incentive to reveal insider info to a complete stranger on a customer service chat.

Level 1 customer service representatives would not be told this information because the information would not help them do their jobs, which is to fix problems, not give sneak peak info on future released phones.

If I had any say, this thread would be locked :)

It is completely real from the sprint chat I had. If I have to I will take a picture from the email that was sent to me after the chat, but this wasnt even copied from the email it was directly from the chat. This is exactly what they gave me but he might of been thinkin about the evo 4g instead but he was giving me the same information even after I was talking about the upgrades. This is completely legit unless its the wrong information DIRECTLY from them. I am just like everyone else that will be picking up the evo 3d because I have a crappy samsung rant in the first place while everyone has the new technology. I love android and I really hope this is the price because it means ill be able to get it. Unless they lied to me of course.

anyway enough lecturing I will definitely be getting this! Peace off

I don't think you understand what people are saying. No one is saying you didn't have that chat. We're saying that tier 1 Sprint representatives are the last to know anything. In addition, if they are able to tell you the price then we would all know.

I'm amazed so many folks are definite buyers before reviews. Yea I'm interested in the phone but if it turns out ot be a lousy phone (even if it has great processing) then I'll skip it in a heart beat. Mind you HTC has a good reputation of producing decent phones (antennae, noise cancellation, speaker, clarity) so I have high hope but for me it has to be a good phone.
The big negative for this device seems to be form factor (i prefer samsung thin light) and possibly washed out screen in daylight; but I can live with those negatives if the rest of the package is good (good batter life, reception, gps, ...)

If the phone does suck you have 30 days to return it nqa. I'm guessing, and hoping the phone won't suck:eek:

I don't see it being $149. That won't make sense. If i remember correctly the Epic 4g was $250.

But i'm sure $50 extra won't stop anybody from buying this beast.

I'll be willing to pay up to $300 for this phone with a new 2 year contract. But i'm sure i'll be able to get it for under $200 from amazon, or wirefly.

I've said it a bunch of times on these forums and I have absolutely NO problem saying it again. TIER 1 reps are the absolute LAST ones informed about anything! That said, I can't imagine that the phone would be anymore than the $199 that the EVO cost at launch. Even with the upgraded internals, there's absolutely no reason for Sprint to push the phone's cost past what the competitors are charging (e.g. Motorola Atrix, upcoming Motorola Bionic, HTC Thunderbolt, even iPhone 4 OR 5 etc...).

I'm quoting myself to re-emphasize my point. I worked customer service as a QA Manager and Floor Supervisor for one of the first out-sourced customer service companies back in late 99-00.

I am saying this again, and will CONTINUE to say it, until EVERYBODY understands.

Tier 1 reps (e.g. the customer service reps that the consumers chat with AND/OR speak with on the phone) will be the very LAST people to get inside information on upcoming product/sales! Anybody that will tell you otherwise most likely hasn't been in the customer service side of the industry before.

Exactly. Support and Sales/Marketing are on opposite sides of the company. Often they don't share information even after the product is live. Pricing is revealed (not decided) by Sales/Marketing, not Support.

Tier one reps may be the very last to know. Who's to say others don't know and aren't just keeping their mouth shut? Just saying, it's possible, though not probable.

Yea I do belive its coming to Europe first then France i guess if your eager you can shell out 699 plus tax plus shipping you could get it before the us launch I wouldn't pay it even thoe it will probably be around 699 here off contract price

Last I checked..France was in Europe

I'm curious, has anybody actually tried the new Best Buy "Buy Back" program?

Buy Back Program

According to the calculator, it's based on the original "retail" price of the product, prior to any rebates/discounts/etc...

If that's the case, my current EVO (depending on when the EVO 3D comes out) could get me up to $239 with the new Best Buy Buy Back Program? That's almost worth buying the phone without using my "upgrade"...LOL.

I really want to see if people have actually done the program already and gotten close to or exactly what the calculator has indicated.

You actually have to purchase the buy back program package when you purcahse your phone (well, within 30 days of purchase to be precise) to utilize this service. Depending on the price of the product, the plan goes up in price as well.

1. Purchase the Buy Back Program along with your new product.

2. Bring the product back in good, working condition with all originally included accessories when you're ready for something new.

3. Receive a Best Buy

LOL...I see. So, if the "buy back" program was available before and I would've purchased it (59.99 for phones $350+), I would realistically only be getting $179 back? That's still not too bad.

I guess, if I decide to upgrade, I'll sell through ebay again, but I'm seriously considering getting the "buy back" program, just for convenience.

I feel like you could get MUCH more on ebay or craig's list.

yeah, I know, usually sell my old phones on Craigslist. I was just saying for the convenience factor.

Plus I just realized I won't have only $75 credit this year in June. Have to wait until 2012 to get the full $150. that sucks

I see. If that's the case, I would definitely do ebay or craig's list route. You might even get more money if you sell already rooted w/o a custom rom installed.

Thing is, I was going to try the new Buy Back program with Best Buy, but didn't realize it had to be pre-purchased in order to take advantage of it. They indicated a buy back price of $239 (actually $179 because it would've been $59 upfront for the buy back program), so you could always see if Sprint would match that.
