Root Evo 4G problem

Thanks for the help but I don't think this Rom is going to install.. I'm sitting here now and I count 5 reboots to the white htc evo 4G screen and it just cycles over again.. I did what you said and it still happens that way..

Oh well.

Yes, if you have current radios and still have issues, then the phone does not like it. Also it could be signs of something deeper, and I hope not. If you like Sense, why not try Synergy to see if it works or boot loops too.

I hope you get it worked out soon. there are loads of ROMs to try and also there are lots of Stock rooted roms too. All it takes is time to download them and copy them over.

Good Luck!

That's the thing If I use synergy I'm stuck with sense? Because I really don't like it.. I rather just have the AOSP however it seems like I can't change the kernel to that?

ok lets see if you have a card issue.

If Possible take out the card an place it in a card reader and in windows click start > Run and type cmd

in Cmd type
chkdsk x:\ /f /r
REPLACE X WITH DRIVE LETTER

if windows reports any bad spots then you need to replace the card. If not then you could have another hardware issue but lets keep it simple right now.

It is possible you got a bad download and could try to download it again. The battery getting warm could have caused a problem with your SD CARD Hopefully it didnt do any other damage.

btw just got around to checking the SD card and no problems

On CM7 where's the market?

you need to flash the gapps. this will load all of the google apps like the market and gmail and navigation. you can get it in the roms/kernel sticky. the gapps in the sticky will also have the sprints visual voice messaging app included as well.

yep. just wipe dalvik cache and cache and flash it in recovery.

But that's the thing I don't see it listed unless I need to get rid of the .zip part

*edit

LOL did not know I could scroll all the way down the list.. needs some type of bar to let you know that it's scroll able.

lol i posted too quickly i guess.

also a suggestion:
i would try the taimat 4.0.8 sbc kernel. i was just on cm7.1 with that kernel and my battery life was amazing. one day i got 30hrs with moderate use. and with heavy usage i got 18 hrs. give it a try.

I will try it later haha I've got to get some sleep I can tell you I'm loving how responsive the phone is now.

Good I'm glad you found something that is agreeable with you and your phone. Glad you finally was able to get things working

Bad news it gave me some issues so I switched to the savage ron and seems to be fine.. I had a process error with cyanogen it would pop up each time when trying to get to market

Another werid issue I have a Bluetooth device I can't impair.. must of been backed up with the system.. only gives me the option of pair and connect but entering in the pass is not doing anything so how can I delete it off the list?

Btw this is with the savage rom

After much back and forth I moved back to CM7 right now it's stable.. I did have the process.android.media error but I just cleared out one of the market things under running apps and it went away.

Not sure what the hell was going on early this morning.. because right after I left the first time with CM7 it just hung in the car (spent 40 min in the car trying to fix it) it hung at the spinning arrow CM7 logo.

so I did the wipe of the dalvik and all was fine after I switched back to CM7 this morning.

Having said that when making a nadoid backup are the files done by date?

yes they are dated.

Hmm so should I still replace the card anyways?

And when flashing CM7 or any AOSP says my free phone storage space is 231 out of 428 mb is that right?

aosp roms are small they should be about 80-100mb at the most in size. and as far as your card goes, that is up to you.

Ok a few more questions now that I'm on my 2nd day..

I don't seem to have voice search (might not be installed) but I have no swype keyboard :(

and for some reason each call I make it starts out on speakerphone first.
